Growing up with home-made birthday cakes, chosen from the pages of Women’s Weekly is what mine and many other parents childhood memories are made of! The best cake my mum ever made for me was my hedgehog cake, a chocolate cake covered in Spines made of Cadbury’s Chocolate buttons, yummo!!! With so many happy memories, it’s not surprising that we want to pass on the tradition to our own kids when it comes to their special celebrations.

As a Mum of three, I’ve done the 3 am finishes trying to create surprise birthday cakes, stressed to the max, 4 glasses of wine in and praying for a miracle!! But the look on the kids’ faces on their birthday was always worth the battle in the kitchen. Cake 2 The Rescue was founded to put an end to the stress of creating home-made birthday cakes! So when it comes to creating new designs for our Cake Rescue Kits, I always have 4 things in mind; EVERYTHING you need delivered to your door, EASY to achieve for all levels of baker, heaps of FUN to create and HERO status with minimal stress!!!!

Our Secret Ingredient:

Customers love our Disposable Baking Tray! It’s already greased so you just pour in the cake mix, pop it in the oven and you’re ready to roll. When you cake is cooked simply fold down the sides to easily remove the cake and throw away the tray.

No need to by expensive cake tins, no mess, no fuss and NO CLEAN UP, Genius!!

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for existing! I am NOT a baker but have always wanted to bake a cake for my children’s birthday’s but never had the creativity or courage to tackle such a daunting task - that is until I found you! My son turned 1 last Friday and I baked the Ollie The Dinosaur Cake. It was such an enjoyable experience and I am now going to do this every year for both of my children. Lou Duggan more commonly known as “Baker Girl Lou” is the Managing Director and sole owner of Cake 2 The Rescue. "Ok here’s the scoop…. I’m not officially a baker, I’m a bit of a Jack of All Trades to be honest!!! I started out in Geology / Manufacturing Engineering, re-trained as an Interior Designer 9 years ago while pregnant with my third child. But wasn't until I opened Cake 2 The Rescue in 2012 that I finally found my place to stand in the business world. I love that I now have a job that lets me use my left brain, right brain and the experience of motherhood all rolled into one!! I’ve always looked up to strong women who believe in themselves, know what they want and set about achieving their dreams. After 11 years of being mum I felt lost, struggling to find a career that inspired me but still allow me the flexibility to be mum. April 2011 - Two mum’s with histories in branding/marketing and engineering interior design become the “The Baker Girls” and start developing a cake kit concept, eight months of research and testing follow.

January 2012 - Cake 2 The Rescue is launched online and run as a home business.

September 2012 - Channel 9 Today Show runs a segment on Cake 2 The Rescue, sales grow.

July 2013 - Cake 2 The Rescue wins Best National Party Provider at the What’s on 4 Awards.

August 2013 - Business continues to grow and it becomes necessary to move to a warehouse.

February 2014 - “The Baker Girls” split and Baker Girl Lou becomes the sole owner of Cake 2 The Rescue.

February 2014 to NOW

- Cake 2 The Rescue reaches 43, 000 Facebook likes. With an average weekly reach of 60, 000.

- Pinterest, Instagram, You Tube Channel and Fortnightly Newsletter are launched.

- New pricing structure is introduced and Cake 2 The Rescue becomes a profitable and viable business.

- New responsive website is launched compatible with mobile phones and tablets. SEO functions and reporting facilities become fully integrated, collecting data to support future marketing and direction.

- Cake 2 The Rescue wins Best National Party Provider for the second year at the What’s on 4 Awards 2014.
