Biogas plants will replace the use of firewood or charcoal, resulting in the reduction of GHG emissions and a reduction in deforestation. The social impacts of the project will be numerous: reduced workload required for fire wood collection and fire tendering by women and children; improved health due to a reduction in smoke pollution; increase in household savings.
