This tour takes you from Reykjavík to Eyjafjallajökull volcano ice cap and the magnificent Þórsmörk nature reserve. We take off from Reykjavík and fly east along the south coast to Eyjafjallajökull. After circling and taking pictures of the volcano, we fly to Landmannalaugar mountain valley and then to Hekla volcano on our way back to Reykjavík.

This tour takes you over the diverse landscape of Reykjanes penisula, featuring volcanic craters, geothermal regions and hot springs. The mid-Atlantic ridge is nowhere as clearly visible as here, especially when seen from above. This undersea mountain range spans the entire length of the Atlantic Ocean floor. It marks the boundary between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The largest portion of the ridge, which is exposed above sea level, is Iceland itself, making this a must-see feature.

EYJAFJALLAJÖKULL AND SURROUNDINGS

On this flight we take you over the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano ice cap, best known for the 2010 eruption that stopped all air traffic in Europe. We fly over the main crater and the glacier tongue of Gígjökull, where meltwater found its path from the crater during the eruption. You will also see the magnificent Þórsmörk nature reserve and the surrounding glaciers.

Iceland is known for its volcanic landscape, numerous glaciers and the astonishing colors of its highlands. In this tour we’ll show you just that!

We take off from Bakki airport and fly over the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano ice cap, best known for the 2010 eruption that stopped all air traffic in Europe. From there we fly over some of Iceland’s most remote locations where you can see, for example, the stunning colors of Landmannalaugar and the rough landscape of Jökulgil.

The south coast of Iceland is a magical area. The coastline is home to some of the most beautiful natural attractions in Iceland. From glaciers and volcanoes to black sand beaches, ice caps and riverbeds. We fly over some of the most popular destinations on the south coast. For example, the waterfalls Skógarfoss and Seljalandsfoss, Dyrhólaey, Reynisdrangar and Vík.

On this flight, we take you over the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano ice cap. You get to view the crater and the glacier tongue Gígjökull, where meltwater found its path from the crater during the 2010 eruption. You will also see the magnificent Þórsmörk nature reserve, a glacier valley surrounded by glacier tongues. From there we fly over Jökulgil and Landmannalaugar glacier valleys before flying northeast towards Túná river over Langisjór lake and Lakagígar volcanic craters.

This tour will take you over the beautiful area of Lakagígar, a crater chain created in 1783 by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history. From there we fly over Landmannalaugar, the beautiful valley between the mountains, before returning to Skaftafell. On this tour, our passengers will see glaciers, volcanoes and the beautiful landscape north of Mýrdalsjökull glacier.

On this tour, we fly to the west of Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park, over the vast ice sheet of Skeiðarárjökull and to Grænalón glacial lake. From there we fly west over Síðujökull glacier before flying over the Lakagígar volcano craters. On the way back we will take you over Súlutindar peaks, an interesting glacier sculpted formation on the west side of Skeiðarárjökull. On the way back we go southeast along the edge of Skeiðarárjökull where you will get a panoramic view of its massive size.

This is one of our most photogenic tours. We fly over the coastline and Skeiðarársandur, a vast plain of black sand and ash covered with numerous small rivulets. It spans the entire range between the glacier and the sea. From there we fly over Skeiðarárjökull, a massive outlet glacier draining south from Iceland´s largest ice cap Vatnajökull.

BLACK SANDS AND RIVERBEDS

On this tour, we fly over the colorful area of Kjós located at the head of Morsárdalur glacier valley on our way to the highest peak in Iceland, Hvannadalshnjúkur (2116 m). Then we continue over Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, featuring huge floating icebergs. Along the way, you will enjoy the views of Breiðamerkur-jökull glacier and Esjufjöll Mountains before heading back.

In this tour, we fly over the Grímsvötn eruption site. Grímsvötn is a basaltic volcano located at the northwestern side of Vatnajökull ice cap. It has the highest eruption frequency of all volcanoes in Iceland. Because most of the volcano lies underneath Vatnajökull, most of its eruptions have been subglacial and the interaction of magma and meltwater from the ice causes phreatomag-matic explosive activity. The most recent eruptions in Grímsvötn where in 2011, 2004, 1998 and 1996.

This tour is a combination of two of our most popular tours, ‘Landmannalaugar From Above’ and ‘Grímsvötn Eruption Site’.

We will take you over the beautiful areas of Lakagígar, Landmanna- laugar and Grímsvötn. Passengers will see the glaciers and the beautiful landscape north of Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. This tour will also take you to the large glacier lake Grímsvötn, where you can see the contrasts between the glacier and the hot springs.
