The Salvation Army.

For 125 years, The Salvation Army has been catching Omahans when they hit bottom. We gently restore hope as we help people recover their natural human drive for independence, personal accountability and a better life.

Joan Kroc, heiress of the McDonald’s fortune, had this reputation in mind as she looked for a partner in creating a revolution. Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers are community-sustained facilities that merge traditional social service with arts and education programs, fitness, and other experiences that reveal the highest human potential.

In January, 2010, The Salvation Army and a group of visionary Omaha leaders opened our Kroc Center, repurposing the site of the Wilson Meat Packing Plant. Since then, we have provided low-cost opportunities for personal growth, family bonding, and community building in a safe, caring and beautiful environment.
