Their mom had an idea and said, “Let’s go camping in the backyard.We’ll pitch a tent and bring food and games—that shouldn’t be too hard.”

While Dad wrestled with the tent, Mom gathered 4 forks, a knife, and 4 ears of corn. The boys got in a tussle and she warned, “Stop, or rue the day you were born!”She gave Max the skillet, spatula, can opener, and can of pork & beans;

She handed Jack 2 paper plates and hot dogs and warned “No more scenes!”

Dad was scratching his head and rereading the directions for the tent.He called for an axe and 2 hammers because apparently something was bent.

The boys were sent looking for 3 pinecones and a plastic deer hidden near and far, Along with 3 sticks, 5 clothespins, 4 shells, and a bug-catching jar.

Dad never got the tent up, and Jack, bitten by a spider, claimed to feel unsteady, But, Mom and her first aid kit with hydrocortisone cream and Band-Aids was ready. 5 Hershey bars, 8 graham crackers, and 8 marshmallows helped make things okay,

And in their own beds they slept that night after their exhausting, but not boring, day.
