Who did we serve?
Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Inc., was founded in a three-and-a-half-car garage in 1980. Ever since, they have grown as hunger has grown—
fighting the crisis in central Indiana every step of the way.Their mission is simple and direct: To lead the fight against hunger.

Ultimately, Gleaners reaches thousands of people who need assistance.
“They are our families, friends and neighbors throughout Indiana.”
The working poor The unemployed The single parents The elderlyThe homeless
The disabledThe mentally illThe battered womenThe victims of disasterThe helpless children
What did we accomplish that day?
1. We inspected frozen products for quality and packaging2. We sorted the frozen foods that passed inspection (chicken, beef, etc.) 3. We weighed out individual 30lb. boxes of a variety of frozen foods to be distributed
to families
*We sorted and boxed over 3,683 lbs.of frozen food in under 2.5 hours*
This is testament to Gleaners efficient processes and comprehensive volunteer training.
FUN FACT!Nothing at Gleaners goes to waste
1. All food that does not pass inspection is donated to a wildlife preservation organization.
2. All cardboard boxes are broken down and sold to recycling companies. The money made is put back into Gleaners operations.
3. All cellophane and plastic wrapping is recycled.
What is our plan for an ongoing relationship with the nonprofit?
1. Continue to raise money and collect non-perishable items throughout the year for Gleaners food drives.
2. Encourage our employees to personally stay involved by posting volunteer opportunities available through Gleaners.
3. Continue our Annual Day of Service with Gleaners.(A day that employees bring friends and family to volunteer their time and talentsoutside of the office.)
