• ~1 in 1,000 births in the US• 5-7 times great in
underdeveloped countries (Uganda, Honduras)
• Foot position is pointing downwards and twisted inwards

combination of casts and braces• $200 - $300 / brace
• Achieve proper position of foot• dorsiflexion, external
rotation, eversion
• With correction the child can have a normal quality of life
