SZABIST Law SocietyThe Law Society is a student society comprising of undergraduate law students which is run by student representatives. An annual election is held as per the constitution of the SLS for appointment of students to the various oces of President, Vice-President, Treasurer etc. The elected members are responsible for organizing various student related activities in conjunction with the SZABIST Student Council. This not only includes social activities like the Beach Trip but also Guest Speaker sessions, SZABMOOT and the annual High Court Trip. The SLS also acts as a liaison between SZABIST and various law rms, which are the prospective employers of the LLB students.

SZABIST Rule of Law Centre (SRLC)Our Rule of Law Centre aims to raise awareness with respect to the implementation of rule of law in Pakistan. The Centre not only intends to bring to attention the practical legal and social issues that encumber the legal system but also enables aspiring advocates to aect policy change to cater the same. SRLC is, therefore, engaged in organizing various workshops and conferences to invite aspirants to ponder over various socio-legal issues.

Additionally, SRLC invests in multiple alternative dispute resolution mechanism trainings to ensure awareness amongst law students. The SRLC ensures our law students are well receptive to the change in the legal dynamics and are able to perform exceptionally at external national as well as international forums.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)The ICRC is an international organization which directs and coordinates international relief activities and endeavors to prevent suering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. SZABIST law has the honor to be working in partnership with ICRC for its Health Care in Danger initiative which is part of the ICRC’s global initiative aimed at addressing the issue of violence against patients, health workers, facilities, vehicles and ensuring safe access to and delivery of health care.

SZABIST Law is currently working with the ICRC on a research based project designed to identify the existing problems and dangers faced various types of healthcare workers, whilst they conduct their duties on site (hospitals, clinics, etc.) and o-site (medical camps, drives, etc.)

As part of this initiative, SZABIST Law’s faculty and students worked on the project “Raasta Dein” which lead to amendments in Sindh’s Motor Vehicle Ordinance ensuring a right of way for ambulances and introducing punishments for any who obstruct it.

Guest Speaker SessionsSZABIST Law recognizes the importance of maintaining a connection with those practically involved in various aspects the legal eld and of providing students the chance to interact with and learn from such professionals. As such, we conduct guest speaker sessions throughout the year on various topics depending on student interest and requirements.

Career CounsellingWe not only believe in providing support to our students during their time at university but wish to help them nd their feet beyond its walls as well. To that eect, SZABIST does various eorts to counsel students with respect to career-building. Apart from our faculty having an approachable attitude, they are also involved in conduction career counselling sessions to discuss with them the various options available to them at the end of law school and help them choose the one best for them.

One of the biggest eorts in this respect is carried out by SZABIST’s Executive Development Centre (EDC). The EDC organizes yearly career fairs to enable students interact with prospective employers which include leading multi-national compa-nies and gain job opportunities. Law students are aorded opportunities to be employed in the legal departments of such corporations.
