PUBLIC NOTICE Whereas, a number of complaints have been received by the Higher Education Department regarding running of un-authorized Institutions in the State; Whereas, on the basis of said complaints, the Government in Higher Education Department constituted district level committee vide Govt Order No. 349-HE of 2012 dated 13-09-2012 in pursuance of section 17 of the J&K Private Colleges (Regulation & Control) Act, 2002 read with Rule 21 of the J&K Private Colleges (Regulation & Control) Rules, 2005 for identification of the un-authorized private colleges/educational institutions running in the District or State with the following composi- tion:- 1. Senior most Principal, Govt Degree College in the District-Chairman 2. Principal of the adjoining Govt, Degree College in the District- Member(s) Whereas, these committees were impressed upon to identify and fur- nish the information in respect of the un-authorized private colleges/educational institutions falling within their territorial jursidiction every year; Whereas, the said commitees furnished the list of un-authorized insti- tutions district-wise running in the State; Whereas, the said list of un-authorized institutions district-wise was published through print media for information of the public and the stu- dent community in particular. Whereas, a provision for filling objections, if any,with regard to publish- ing of name of his/her institutions shall represent to the Director Colleges, Higher Education Department within a period of 15 days from the date of publication of the notice and beyond that period no repre- sentation shall be entertained. Whereas, the department received 65 representations out of 236 insti- tutions which were running un-authorized having requested for deletion of names of their institutions published in the local Dailies owing to the fact that they do not fall within the jurisdiction of Higher Education Department, Whereas, the said representations were examined in the Department and it was found that the names of these institutions were a typical error and has been decided to withdraw their names from the list of un- authorized institutions published in the local Dailies. Now, therefore, the names of the institutions (forming annexure-A) which were published in the Daily Excelsior on 25-03-2013 & 26-03- 2013 and Daily Greater Kashmir, Srinagar on 28-03-2013 in the list of un-authorized institution shall be deemed to have been withdrawn.
