The Teaching TeamDr Sue GreenerCourse Leader Dr. Greener is an academic (University of Brighton) and development consultant (Positive Images). She specialises in the fields of management learning and communication skills and currently teaches undergraduates and postgraduates in business and human resource management.

She also works with refugees seeking entry to higher education, acts as a representative on validation panels for Brighton’s Academic Standards Committee, and runs a research group called Business e-Learning (BeL). Sue was awarded a doctorate in 2008 for her research into students’ readiness for online learning.

Dr Robin BellCourse Leader – The University of Worcester Dr Robin Bell joined the Worcester Business School in 2011. He works as a lecturer within the Marketing subject group. He is responsible for coordinating Worcester Business School’s activities with their international partners and is also in charge of graduate dissertations. He holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development from the University of Gloucestershire.

His professional and industry experience includes working for Orange PCS and Next PLC. He was elected to serve in public office for one term (2007-2012) and continues to act as a governor for a special educational needs school in the South West of England.

Tony GreenerModule Leader – Management & Organisational BehaviourTony Greener started his commercial career as a journalist before moving into management and specialising in PR, communications and marketing. He has previously been a board director of Land Rover, BL Cars Europe, Dunlop Slazenger International, the Saudi Arabian National Guard Medical Service and the UK PR agency Saatchi & Saatchi, where he was Deputy Managing Director.

Tony holds a Master’s in Change Management and has conducted research into major institutional change in the motor industry. He is the author of The Secrets of Successful PR (Butterworth Heinemann, 1990) and Internal Communications (Blackhall, 2000).

His academic career has included appointments at Brighton University Business School and the University of West London.

Dr Andrew NurseModule Leader – Business-to-Business Marketing and International Marketing StrategyDr Andrew Nurse was awarded his PhD in 2011 for his work into organisation capability and he currently is a visiting lecturer at Kingston University London. He has significant professional experience in marketing and his principal research interest’s concern human and organisational capability as part of strategy development.

Dr John ShepherdModule Leader – Strategic Operations and Quality Management John Shepherd has spent much of his career in the telecommunications industry. He has been responsible for the design of major network changes including the introduction of British Telecom’s Televoting service. He is currently involved in the strategic development of BT’s global network and operations.

John was awarded a doctorate for his research into the impact of regulation upon new telecommunications technologies. His current research interests lie in the application of agile techniques to design and development activities.

Dr Andreas TsoponakisModule Leader – Management Accounting and FinanaceAndreas is a lecturer in finance at Salford Business School. He is a financial economist, with particular research interest in financial stability and systemic risk issues. He completed his PhD at the University of Glasgow, Adam Smith Business School. Prior to Salford, he has worked at a number of institutions, including the University of Glasgow, University of Bradford, University of Athens and IST College/University of Hertfordshire.

Dr John HassallBusiness Analysis and Decision MakingDr. Hassall completed both his MBA and PHD with Aston University in Birmingham.

Dr. Hassall has research supervision experience, including supervising students to PhD and acting as an MBA dissertation supervisor over many years for both Henley Business School (Open and Corporate Programmes) and Oxford Brookes University (Global MBA). He also has experience of examining research degrees.

Keith MattacksModule Leader – Business StrategyKeith hold a Masters degree awarded by the University of Reading. His early career was in HR, and he became the Director of Knowledge Management and Learning at Cable and Wireless before starting his own Management Consultancy business where he he has worked with the NHS and many blue-chip clients.

He currently teaches HR Management and Organisational Behaviour at Brighton University Business School, Management at Birkbek College, London and on the MBA with The Open University Business School.

Introductory VideoAt the beginning of each module you will watch a video to ‘meet’ your tutor. They will explain what will be expected of you and what you will learn about during the module.

Video LecturesEach week a new video lecture is uploaded. You will need to watch these at the beginning of the week in order to complete the other online activities, which all relate to the video lecture.

How you Learn

TutorialsYou will work through the online tutorials, completing any necessary tasks as directed. There will also be ‘Stop and ‘Check’ quizzes to help ensure you have understood the lecture. The tutor will give details of activities you need to complete for formal assessment, such as participating in the discussion forums.

Discussion ForumsHere you can meet and discuss with other students. You are also actively encouraged to comment on other students’ answers, to help each other.

Live Chat SessionsAt the end of the week, your tutor will schedule a live chat session to discuss the weekly topic and everything you have learnt. This is a great opportunity to talk to fellow students and ask any questions/queries you may have. You will be given direct emails of the teaching team and you can contact them any time.
