A Special Event Coordinator will guide you through the entire process ensuring that your event is unique, memorable, and well executed. Our space lives, breathes and adapts, welcoming a unique vision from every client.

The main tasting bar and restaurant space is able to accommodate medium to large groups for parties, presentations, and performances. In addition to our main space, Block 7 has several private and semi-private options for dining and tasting parties: our Gallery space featuring rotating art exhibitions, Covered Patio, and Retail Cellar space. Each area can be dressed for intimate cocktail parties, a walk around tasting, or more formal seated dinners. Our warehouse is equipped with an in-house sound system and capability for the easy addition of A/V.

Block 7 has a wine list specifically chosen for special events with both old and new world bottle selections from various notable winemaking regions. A complimentary wine consultation can be arranged for every client. In addition, our in-house Chef de Cuisine will work with you to create a seasonal menu which best complements the wines featured at your event. We will accommodate pre-function tastings to ensure that your selections are the perfect accompaniment to your event.

We also offer a series of wine tasting seminars and classes which can be added as an entertaining or educational element to each private event. Led by our professional staff, guests will have the opportunity to learn how to pair wines with food, properly taste wine and more alongside friends or coworkers in a private setting.

Block 7 is an 8,000 square foot retail wine warehouse and tasting venue created with events in mind. Housed in the former location of longtime Houston business, Western Appliance, Block 7 is the quintessential warehouse feel with a swig of polish. Saving the structural integrity of the building was important to us and our approach was to salvage as much as we could for the interior design of the bar, shelving and wine racks. Those elements combined with amazing design and input from local artists has truly molded the space into a genuine home for our guests. Block 7’s main area is anchored by a 35 foot custom designed tasting bar, and the adjacent restaurant features unique cork tables and rotating art in the Gallery space. Our huge garage door can also create an open air environment leading out onto our Covered Patio. Block 7 is sure to impress your friends, family, co-workers, party-goers, donors, hobnobbers & wine tasting clan... pick a date for your block party today.

The b7 Gallery space features rotating art exhibitions and is the perfect setting for an intimate wine dinner, birthday party, bridal shower, networking event or corporate cocktail party. The Gallery Enclave includes the recessed portion of the space and the Full Gallery extends all the way up to our garage door. The Gallery space is semi-private with the use of curtains and screens. Our Covered Patio can be reserved in conjunction with the Full Gallery for additional capacity.

Our shady Covered Patio with classic brick pavers and high wooden canopy is the perfect setting for a casual gathering. It can also be used in conjunction with our Full Gallery. About 30 guests can be seated comfortably on a nice afternoon or for a late night fete. Bottoms up.

Event reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and are confirmed with a signed Event Contract, valid credit card information and a deposit of half of the required Food & Beverage Minimum. The Deposit is due upon booking your event, and if you cancel your event, it may be applied towards your Cancellation Fee as set forth in your Event Contract. Food & Beverage Minimums are subject to change, and the availability of certain spaces may vary depending on the day in which your event occurs.

Final attendance numbers for your event are due to Block 7 at least 72 hours before the day of your event. In order to ensure product availability, no changes to food menu selections may be made less than 72 hours before the day of your event unless approved by the Event Manager. If no menu is selected, the Event Manager will coordinate a menu based on available product. The balance of your Food & Beverage Minimum will be charged to the credit card on file 72 hours prior to your event. Any additional charges accrued during your event will be charged at the conclusion of the event. You will be charged the full amount of the Food & Beverage Minimum even if fewer than your guaranteed number of guests attend your event.

Our Special Event Coordinator can assist in coordination of live entertainment, Audio/Visual needs, photography, favors, florals, custom linens, tables and chairs or other rentals you desire to create the desired ambiance for your event. Upon request, we will make these arrangements for you and apply any associated charges to your final event bill. You also have the option to coordinate these items yourself with prior notice and approval from the Event Manager.

Block 7’s 3,000 square foot climate controlled Retail Cellar is available during cocktail hours for private functions. Ideal for wine dinners, educational events and walk around tastings, it gives you the opportunity to surround your guests with our hand-selected wines and engage further curiosity about each wine’s unique story and history. And yes, we know it gets a bit chilly, but we’ve got you covered. We keep b7 fleeces on hand for loan during Cellar events - in one of our fave colors, orange.
