    3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

    3.1. Only persons certified by the skilled commission of the Shipyard on knowledge of structures, principle of operation, safety precautions and been able to control them in accordance with the maintenance and operation manual, could be accepted to control devices. 3.2. To comply with safety precautions provided by the Operation Manual 616-266.00-200 3.3. To provide the personnel safety carrying out some works on maintenance, testing or repair of the hatch covers it is necessary to have both electrodrive and electrical system de-energized. Having been de-energized the electrical power supply, it is necessary to hang up nameplates with inscription DO NOT SWITCH ON! PERSONS ARE OPERATING!. 3.4. When arising emergency situation during operation of the hatch cover in accordance with location of operator, it is necessary additionally to be guided by instructions laid in the Requirements of safety precautions produced to general arrangement, gears and equipment of sea-going ships 1.81.01-87, as well as conforming to requirements P 5.9862-81 and P 5.0241-78. 4. TECHNIQUE OF TEST 4.1. Check of submitted documentation. 4.1.1. Commision should check the completeness of the submitted design and operational documentation. 4.2. Visual inspection and checks before testing. 4.2.1. Before testing to be carried out preparation for operation of the hatch covers in accordance with 616-266.00-200, in so doing: 4.2.1.1. It is necessary to check the electrical circuits insulation resistance: 1) Resistance of insulation of motor windings to be checked with a megohmmeter for a voltage of 500 V, and control circuits megohmmeter for a voltage of 100V; 2) Resistance of insulation of motor windings to be not less than 5 MOh, and control

    circuits not less than 1 MOh. 4.2.1.2. It is necessary to check the throttle valves adjustment in accordance with the documentation of the hydroequipment Supplier.

    4.3. Testing of hatch covers in operation. 4.3.1. The tests of the hatch covers are carried out with the purpose of compliance of the technical characteristics to given ones as well as of check of interaction and serviceability of all main parts. 4.3.2. The test are carried out after complete assembling aboard at being ships heel and trim. 4.3.3. Hatch covers operation check should be carried out by complete opening and closing of all hatches up to position CLOSED DOWN. In so doing the number of openings-closings should be not less than three. The hatch covers tests to be carried out by the standard pump station operation. 4.3.4. When testing it should be checked: 1) correctness of interaction of parts and assemblies; 2) smooth movement of sections, absence of skewnesses and wedgings in joints;

    3) operation of battening devices of the hatch covers; 4) structure and reliability of stopping of sections in the open position; 5) possibility of parts and assemblies greasing; 6) pressure in the hydrodrive by means of standard pressure gauge. The pressure should be

    in the range from 1,0 to 25,5 P (from 10 to 255 kgf/ m2); 7) control both pumps and hydrodrives of the hatch covers is carried out from control units;

    4.3.5. When opening or closing the hatches it is necessary to check safety of hatch cover operation when breaking pipelines, as well as the possibility of quick recovery of hydrodrive serviceability when emergency cases, for which purpose on one of leaf of hatch covers 1 or 2 it is necessary to be sure of smooth lowering of sections against coaming at sharp pressure drop in the hydrodrive. For this purpose it is necessary to open the standard throttle valves which connect the piston cavities of the hydrocylinders with discharge hydroline. (see B616-266.00-200, B616-266.00-200, item 2.24, 2.34, 2.44, 3.14, 3.24, 3.34). It is necessary to watch the working liquid level, do not permit the tank overfilling. After lowering leaf the valves to be closed. 4.3.6. When testing it is necessary to make the following measurements and take them in the table of the Enclosure 2:

    1) time of opening of each hatch cover up to the position OPEN without regard to time of auxiliary operations ( batten up, preparation of a drive and so on );

    2) time of closing of each hatch cover up to the position CLOSED without regard to time of auxiliary operations;

    3) time necessary for batten down of each natch cover up to position BATTENED DOWN; 4) temperature of ambient air and oil in the hydrodrive; 5) maximum pressure in the hydrodrive when closing and opening of the hatch covers.
