With the restructuring of health care in the United States, one of themajor changes in patient care has been a shift from subspecialty care toprimary care. In addition, cardiovascular disease remains the leadingcause of death and disability in the U.S. As a result, much of the burdenof caring for patients with cardiovascular disease will fall on primarycare physicians. This meeting is designed to provide an update in the di-agnosis and management of cardiovascular disease for primary careproviders.

At the Cardiology in Primary Care Conference, you will hear from na-tionally renowned speakers on a wide variety of topics. Areas of focus in-clude stress testing, heart disease in women, lipid-lowering therapy, atrialfibrillation, post-hospital discharge cardiac care, peripheral vascular diseaseand many others. Case discussions with expert panels will also highlightkey concepts in cardiovascular disease.
