About UsZakłady Azotowe Chorzów S.A. is one of the oldest exi-sting Polish chemical factories, boasting over 100 years of history and rich experience� It is a part of the structures of Grupa Azoty S�A�

The Company’s offer is addressed to the following sectors of the economy: agriculture, in particular horticulture, fru-it and vegetable farming under protection, construction, chemical and oleochemical processing, rubber and plastics industry, including the production of synthetic rubber and tyres, food industry, production of crystal glass and explo-sive and explosion-proof blends.

In 2012, company became part of the PUŁAWY Capital Group, which acquired 85% of shares in AZOTY-ADIPOL S.A. from the State Treasury. The consolidation of the PU-ŁAWY Group with the Azoty Tarnów Group in 2013 made Azoty-Adipol S�A� part of one of the largest chemical groups in Europe� In July 2013, the name of the company changed from Azoty-Adipol S�A� to Zakłady Azotowe Chorzów S.A.

The activity of Zakłady Azotowe Chorzów S.A. in the desi-gn, manufacture and sale of chemical products, fertilizers and food additives is covered by the Integrated Quali-ty Management System according to the ISO 9001 and 14001 standards. We also have implemented the Food Safety Management System (HACCP) to ensure health safety of food additives supplied. We can also boast a Kosher Certificate issued by the Union of Jewish Religious Communities in Poland.

ReceiptPotassium nitrate is produced by neutralization of nitric acid with 1,5-water potassium carbonate� Calcium nitrate is also produced by neutralizing nitric acid� Calcium oxide is used in this process�

Thanks to the use of high quality raw materials and ap-propriately adjusted technology developed by our specia-lists, Zakłady Azotowe Chorzów S.A. ensures the produc-tion of products with a low content of chloride ions and heavy metals. Potassium nitrate technical grade Potassium nitrate used in the production of glass, glaze, explosives and high quality mineral fertilizers.

It is a fully water-soluble substance in the form of colo-urless or white crystals� Potassium nitrate is an oxidant� For this reason, its main application was the production of black powder.

On customer’s request, the product available without an-ti-caking agent or with PETRO AG anti-caking agent in the amount from 0.06% to 0.14%. The product delivered without anti-caking agent may be caking.

Calcium nitrate technical gradeCalcium nitrate technical grade - product for technical ap-plications. We produce three different forms of calcium nitrate: a solution with a concentration of 45 %, a solution with a concentration of 50 % and the Scalnit.

The product is mainly used in the production of concrete and cement�

APPLICATION

• As an additive to concrete and cements, it accelerates concrete bonding,

• production of concrete mixes with shortened cement setting time,

• production of concrete mixes in a negative air temperature down to -5°C, with concrete care by means of heat preservation method,

• production of mortars, common and reinforced concrete�

ADVANTAGES

• increases long-term strength, prevents cracking due to shrinkage and allows concrete to be used at reduced temperatures (down to -5°C),

• protects the reinforcing steel against chloride corrosion,• The admixture improves the workability of the concrete

mix,• accelerates the cement hydration reaction,• fully soluble in water in any mixing ratio,• shortens the concrete setting time and increases its

flexibility,• does not contain ammonium ion,• it’s chlorine-free�

STORAGE AND STORAGE CONDITIONSStore indoors at temperatures above -5°C. Protect against sunlight and frost. Containers up to 20 l can be stored in two layers. Containers with more than 20 litres should be stored in one layer.

RISK MANAGEMENT AND MITIGATION MEASURES REQUIREDSpecified in the safety data sheet for 50% calcium nitrate solution. Specifically: Do not store with flammable, particularly absorbent materials. Do not allow contact with burning matter. Do not allow skin and eyes to become contaminated or aerosol inhalation. Use glasses, gloves and protective clothing. Do not pour out residual solution. Empty packaging should be handed over to the supplier or an authorised waste collector.
