AYY accommodation in a nutshell

• ~2500 apartments• ~3200 tenants• 70% of members would prefer

student accommodation– AYY can offer accommodation for 20%– 1300 students in queue (estimated)

• The demand is being answered– Next 5-7 years: ~400 new apartments

• Sets three goals:– Improvement of housing related

communications– Activating and supporting tenant activity–Maintaining the current level of housing

related services while developing the services to be more flexible and modern

How many apartments?

• Do we want to set a goal for the next 10 years?– AYY could send a clear message– A strong driver to meet the goal

• Risks– There is a limit to how many apartments we can

own – reasons both demand related and economical

– Maintenance costs– Land rents a source of uncertainty– Will student amounts diminish?

Where?

• The location is an important factor• Selling old property perhaps not

topical now but might be in the future

• The subway will change things a lot
