Steeling

Oh my gosh!

Believers from over 100 churches gathered in Denver! Steeling conferences have a reputation for drawing intelligent, Biblically solid, enthusiastic, note-taking attendees. Denver was no different. 800 Christians from over 100 churches gathered to hear presentation after presentation, by top Bible teachers in the nation. Using God’s revealed and authoritative Word, they tackled tough subjects and challenged world views and popular thinking. And in a day when everything seems in disorder, it’s good to find answers from the only One who has them!

During both of the financial presentations, you could have heard a pin drop. The two prophecy presentations had everyone diagraming the future in their notebooks. Russ Miller’s Our Amazing Universe, with its stunning visuals of the cosmos, will probably go down as one of the most intriguing Steeling apologetics presentations of all time, and that’s quite a statement! (See below.) The sleeper was Nonie, a former Palestinian from Gaza. In her first Steeling appearance, she explained with heartfelt passion why Muslims, who take the Koran seriously, have no choice but to kill us—Christians and Jews. The audience listened in stunned silence and gave her the only standing ovation of the conference.

As we move ever so close to Rapture and the end of the Church Age, the opportunities to share God’s truth grow exponentially. So order these great presentations today for some great Steel On Steel!

Denver

This will blow you away. Using incredible breathtaking slides, Russ takes you from the outer limits of the

universe all the way down to your body’s single cell . . . a journey that will forever change the way you view God’s greatness. Yes, it’s that good, so pass this one around to friends and family!

The last fifty years have produced an enormous cultural shift for women—from June Cleaver to Gloria Steinem, and beyond. But aren’t you glad that God’s Word never changes?

No matter what the world says, God designed you with a very special purpose, and His plan doesn’t change—even when His approval rating slips in the polls! :-)

The following questions are designed to help you focus in on how God directs us as women. If you read the 100% Man Test, you might remember that many of the questions had to do with actions. But for us as women, we found that many of the questions have to do with how we think, as opposed to what we “do.” That’s because a woman with a Godly spirit is called precious in the sight of God, and when we think correctly, God’s actions will flow through us.

Hopefully this test will help you line up your thoughts with God’s Word, remind you of how much He loves you, and help you “run the race”—with a little less baggage!

Job 2:9 -10a Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?”

Do you believe that your husband has God-given authority over you? Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.

When, after honest discussion and appeal, there are legitimate differences, do you willingly defer to your husband’s decisions and leadership? Eph 5:22,24 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

Even if you think that you are more spiritual, discerning, or insightful than your husband, are you still willing to ultimately submit and trust God through your husband’s leadership? 1Tim 2:14 And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

Do you pray for your husband daily? James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Do you recognize that your husband was never designed to be able to meet your deepest needs, and that only God can do that? Is 54:5 For your husband is your Maker, whose name is the LORD of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, who is called the God of all the earth.

Does your husband perceive that you are content and thankful with your home, possessions, etc.? Heb 13:5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,”

1Th 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

If your husband asks your forgiveness for some offense, are you willing to forgive, turn it over to God, and never bring it up again? 1Cor 13:5 {love} does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

Do you lovingly and willingly make love with your husband at his request? 1Cor 7:5 Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Do you recognize that being insensitive to your husband’s sexual needs is dishonoring to God? Eph 5:31-32 FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

Do you believe that your husband sees you as a gift from God, and that his life is happier because of you? Eccl 9:9 Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun.

Are you fully committed, before God, to love (agape) your husband for better or worse, making no allowance for divorce? Mark 10:9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate

Do you see your children as gifts given to you by God? Psa 127:3 Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

The 100% WomanIs your primary goal as a mother to guide your children in God’s truth, praying for the day when they will personally trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior? 3John 4 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

Do your children recognize that you honor your husband as the head of your family and put his interests first, even above theirs? Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.

As you teach your children, do you do it with kindness? Prov 31:26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

Do you encourage and build up your children? 1Th 2:11 just as you know how we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children,

Do you discipline your children when they are rebellious or defiant? Prov 13:24 He who withholds his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

Are you diligent in seeking to make a home that is warm and appealing to your husband and children? Prov 31:27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Are your children the greatest priority in you life after God and your husband, so that you would be willing to set aside anything and everything else (including career) for their well-being? Titus 2:4-5 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

Are you raising your children to successfully leave the nest and go out with God and for God? Psa 127:4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.

Are you teaching/exhibiting to your children the qualities they should seek in a spouse? Prov 31:1 The words of King Lemuel, the oracle which his mother taught him:

Prov 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.

Do you teach your children to see God’s hand in the midst of good times and good things, encouraging an attitude of thankfulness? James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Do you teach your children that all of God’s commandments are meant for their well being and protection? Deut 12:28 Be careful to listen to all these words which I command you, so that it may be well with you and your sons after you forever, for you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God.

Are you preparing your children to live with a Christ-centered world view, no matter what the world throws at them? 1Cor 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Are you teaching your children to respect authority? Rom 13:1-2 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

Prison Ministry“Thank you for the part Compass has played in the Prison Ministry”

The awesome speakers and subjects are exactly what the inmates need to hear!”

“Our Sunday services here at the prison have doubled in size since we’ve been showing your videos.”

Behind the scenes at CompassAt Compass, we invest money every day into a lot of things that few

people hear about. Did you know there is an African Bible school that uses complimentary Steeling the Mind DVDs as teaching lectures every week!? Or did you know that several prisons show Compass DVDs on Sundays? And scores of small groups and Sunday school classes are weekly showing a Compass DVD and discussing it.

On the Internet, more and more people are signing up for our provocative free daily Good Morning Lord Bible study that goes out to thousands worldwide. And since Compass started with our first Steeling the Mind conference in 1993, we’ve given away thousands of Steeling Bible Conference tickets to pastors, students, etc., as scholarships. We find it particularly pleasing to give free Bible study tapes/DVDs to anyone who asks but can’t afford them.

We’re grateful God gives us the opportunity to get solid Bible teaching into a Christian world that seems steeped in apostasy. And we could never do what we do without those who support us by attending a conference, purchasing a DVD or going on one of our Bible study mission trips to Israel. We even have a small, faithful group of people who donate from time to time. PTL! Only in the next life will you understand what an impact your support has had on so many.

There is a real cost associated with all these activities, but few have ever heard a Compass request for donations as we strive very hard to make sure that our ministry is never driven by money. At the same time, stewardship is mandated and our financial needs are very real. So, to both encourage people to get the word out and help Compass have a more stable financial footing, we’ve designed a program that we believe honors God in both areas. It spreads the Word, gives you great Bible studies for our lowest price, motivates and reminds you that we live in a world of lost souls, and helps Compass with a base of support that lends stability to our ministry.

Pray about becoming a Compass “Pointe!”As we get close to the end of the Church Age and God’s Holy Spirit

being removed (Rapture) from earth, now more than ever we want to get the word out about Jesus’ offer of salvation and the Bible being 100% trustworthy for eternal truths. We want you to partner with us so we can extend our reach.

Eph 6:19 Pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

Each month, for a Compass Pointe:

We’ll send you two DVDs to give away. One you’ll receive is called The Bible’s Big Picture. It’s a remarkable DVD that covers the entire Bible in 30 minutes—Adam to the New Heaven and Earth. It covers the past, present and future, including Adam’s sin, the flood, Israel, the cross, the Church Age, the future tribulation period, the anti-christ, Armageddon, and the millennial reign of Jesus from Jerusalem. The Bible says that God’s word is written on the heart of every person so the desire is built in to know about God. And in this day of instant grits, instant gratification and “give it to me NOW,” the concept of a DVD with the “whole Bible in 30 minutes” is appealing. Anyone can do 30 minutes!

The other DVD we’ll send you each month will rotate among our stand-up-and-yell arsenal of awesome Steeling DVDs, like Big Bang & the Bible, or Frank Peretti’s The Chair. Something fun and/or interesting, and most of all, scripturally sound. All you do is ask the Lord to open a window of opportunity and pass them out.

When you’re witnessing to someone, and you want us to mail them The Bible’s Big Picture, all you do is call or email us with the address and we’ll send it right out. As many and as often as you give us mailing addresses! You pay nothing, we even pay the postage!

For any of our other over 200 incredible Steeling the Mind titles, as a Compass Pointe, you pay only half price—$9.95 each, no limit or minimum.

Anytime you purchase Steeling the Mind Bible Conference tickets, you get them half-price. As many as you want or need.

And if God makes it possible for you to join us on an awesome Israel trip, you’ll receive a $100 discount.

The idea is that, each month, we want to make it easy for you to, “do the work of an evangelist!” (2Tim 4:5). As a Compass Pointe, you plant the seed and we’ll water the ground. And your commitment is a low $20 a month, billed to your credit card on a month to month basis. Easy to cancel anytime, by e-mail or phone. The two DVDs are a $40 value, not to mention unlimited gifts of The Bible’s Big Picture to anyone, any time (we even pay the postage). And all your future DVD purchases are half price! Awesome!

So call us at 800-977-2177 or fill out the Compass Pointe registration on page 15 and have some fun passing out great truths to a hurting world. May the Lord bless our investment!

The 100% Woman

Do you TRULY encourage other women to love their husbands, even when they come to you with frustration, complaints or bitterness? Titus 2:4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

Do you put others’ interests above your own? Phil 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

Do you try to avoid gossip? Prov 20:19 He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, therefore do not associate with a gossip.

Can you keep a secret? Prov 11:13 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy conceals a matter.

Do you resist building your self-worth on what other people think of you? John 12:43 for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.

When there is disharmony among friends/family, do you seek to “put out the fire” and bring peace? Prov 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all transgressions.

Psa 34:14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

Are you careful not to cause dissension? Prov 6:16 There are six things which the LORD hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:

Prov 6:19 A false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers.

Do you keep your word, even if it costs or inconveniences you, in the short run? Psa 15:4b He swears to his own hurt and does not change;

Do you seek out Godly friends and counselors? Prov 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Do you look for opportunities to teach others what God as taught you? Titus 2:3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,

Are you generous? Prov 11:24 There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want.

When you teach and/or counsel, do you choose your words carefully? Prov 12:18 There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Are you willing to seek and/or accept advice from Godly people, even when they disagree with you? Prov 15:22 Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.

Prov 19:20 Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.

Are you careful to give your hurts over to Christ, not giving way to resentment or bitterness? Heb 12:15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

Do you guard against jealously and selfishness, knowing that they literally open the door to devastating demonic influence? James 3:15-16 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.

Are you faithful to pray for people and situations? Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

Do you extend grace to others, especially when they deserve it the least and need it the most? Eph 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

Do you use your spiritual gifts for the benefit of others? 1Cor 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

Is your confidence completely rooted in God, as opposed to “self ” confidence? 2Cor 3:5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,

Do you view growing old as something you can embrace from God, rather than something to be feared? 2Cor 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.

Psa 92:14 They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green,

Do you carefully evaluate new ideas, teachers, and spiritual movements in light of the truth of God’s written Word? 2Cor 11:3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Are you alert to the reality that Satan can make evil appear to be very good, just as he did to the first woman, Eve? 2Cor 11:14-15 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

When you are involved in conflicts, do you recognize that your enemy is Satan, and not the person who is opposing you? Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Do you practice hospitality toward both friends and strangers? Rom 12:13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

Heb 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Are you humble before God and other people? Prov 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility.

Do you perform your work, whether great or trivial, as service for the Lord? Col 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

As you watch world events and world politics, are you confident and comforted that God is sovereign and in control? Psa 9:19-20 Arise, O LORD, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You. Put them in fear, O LORD; Let the nations know that they are but men.

Do you know how to rest in the Lord in the midst of troubling or painful circumstances? Psa 37:7a Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;

Do you confidently hope in God, even when your circumstances seem hopeless? Psa 39:7 And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.

Do you experience real joy when you know that you are in God’s will, being used by Him? Psa 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

Following our popular Empty Tomb pendant, we’ve designed a cross after what would have been used in Jesus’ day. Almost all cross jewelry worn today bears little resemblance to the rough, wooden Roman crosses used in Jesus’ time. For instance crucifixion for a common criminal would have used old scraps of wood, not sides with smooth planes. A footrest was always used to nail the feet. And there was a sign nailed above the head with the charges for conviction.

So we designed a cross more along the lines of what the Romans would have used in Jesus’ day. It’s a more authentic reminder of what Jesus was crucified on—old pieces of wood. A stark contrast to smooth crosses worn today, wearing this unique cross will undoubtedly give you great opportunities to witness! Order this one-of-a-kind gift today!

Do you have an “eternal perspective” that makes it easier for you to endure suffering or pain as being temporary? Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Are you able to sleep peacefully because of your trust in God? Prov 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Do you ask God to protect your emotions and affections, knowing they can powerfully affect your life positively or negatively? Prov 4:23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.

Do your words build up others? Prov 10:11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

Do you take constructive criticism well? Prov 10:17 He is on the path of life who heeds instruction, but he who ignores reproof goes astray.

In the midst of heated discussion, do you choose to keep silent rather than say things you might later regret? Prov 10:19 When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

Are you diligent? Prov 12:27 A lazy man does not roast his prey, but the precious possession of a man is diligence.

Do you actively support politicians and policies that uphold God’s principles? Prov 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

Do you pray for those in authority? 1Tim 2:1-2 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

Do you begin each day seeking God? Psa 143:8 Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul.

Do you thank God for your health? Psa 139:14a I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

If you are ever plagued with anxiety, depression or fear, do you find comfort in God’s Word? Psa 94:19 When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, your consolations delight my soul.

Do you believe that God can take care of you, even when all human relationships have ended or failed? Psa 68:5-6 A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His holy habitation. God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, only the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

Are you able to let go of things in the past? Phil 3:13-14 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Have you learned to be content and at peace, apart from your circumstances? Phil 4:11-13 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Does Jesus have first place in your life? Col 1:18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

Are you bold in sharing and defending you faith? 2Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

When you, or your husband or children, are unjustly treated or ridiculed, are you able to endure it without anger or bitterness? 1Pet 2:19-20 For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.

In your deepest heart of hearts, does God find a gentle and quiet spirit? 1Pet 3:3-4 Your adornment must not be merely external-braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

Are you fully assured that God is stronger in you than any temptation that might come against you? 2Pet 2:9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

Are you fully assured of God’s love for you? 1John 4:16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Do you recognize that everything you own belongs to God and is not your own, including your children? Psa 24:1 The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.

Are you willing to let God protect your reputation, defend your honor and fight your battles for you? Ex 14:14 “The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.”

Do you believe that God can change even the hardest heart? Ezek 36:26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Jer 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You,

For every question to which you answered “no”, do you truly believe that God’s grace is greater than any weakness or failure, that His love for you is never diminished, and that His power in you can turn every past failure into future success, forever? Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Only God knows for sure. But one thing is certain, things are changing fast! Think about it . . . we now have socialist health care for those over 65, socialist retirement over 62, and a large part of the insurance industry is now socialist thanks to our government purchasing AIG. Our banking system and real estate financing are controlled by the government. The government just lent millions to the auto industry to keep it afloat. And, if the Democrats are in control next year, universal health care, and who knows what else, will be instituted “to save us” from our miseries. Seems like God is saying, “You want the U.S. government to take care of you, instead of Me? Ok, enjoy,”

On the exciting prophetic side, the Bible says that in the last days, Israel will regather in her homeland as a burdening stone to the world. Russia

and Persia (Iran) will be aligned against her. And, most uncomfortably, the Bible says that in the last days of the Church Age, the richest nation in the world, the largest importing nation in the world, the military hammer of the world, the financial center of the world, a nation bordered by many waters, will come to a screeching halt—thankfully post-rapture! (Is 18; Jer 50,51;, Ezek 38,39; Rev 18)

The good news is there’s never been a better time in our lives to point our unsaved friends and family to God’s eternal truths. If the world IS coming apart at the seams, understanding what’s going on around us from God’s perspective is critical for making good decisions. Desiring and focusing on what He wants, as opposed to what the world says is important, is huge at a time such as this! All this said to make a point—Compass has resources.

The economy is in shambles. Radical Muslims are

trying to kill us. Belief in God is being ridiculed.
