“It’s all about me”…

THAT is the modus operandi of salesy marketers

At least that is what I see as the mind set of that segment of the Internet marketing business community that promotes and advertises their hype-orientated “get rich quickly” schemes. Unfortunately it is a big part of this business; the glory-peddlers who give proper the real business marketers a bad name.

In my opinion that’s the way it’s done by that segment of the Internet marketing community anyway.

The Internet is rife with fakes who are carving their way through the armies of would-be followers who hope to build their fortunes from the advice of these marketers – whose only really interest is the success of their own online businesses, irrespective of who becomes their latest subscriber.

I know that sounds harsh and accusing but it’s based on the personal experience of my first few years getting to know this business. It’s my opinion of the way I think they plan their mission on the World Wide Web.

You are the stepping stone part of THEIR plan to become wealthy. And the point is that it is not all about wealth –as they suggest – it is about happiness, success, and any qualities that manifest things other than wealth – or money.

That is why you get a lot of flashy promotion and offers with all sorts of fancy graphics and banners displaying pictures of expensive cars, homes, and beaches.

You’ve seen them, and probably bought into them too… all those promises of high earnings and an easy life.

Sorry, but I believe a reality check is needed because that is not the way it happens in real life, not really. I don’t want to insult anyone’s intelligence, but you know that’s not real life, real business, and so do I.

So much about building an online business IS about marketing and branding yourself, but branding yourself, presenting and positioning yourself as a trustworthy expert in your field or niche who can genuinely help people to progress.

All good marketers and business builders, on and off line, have learned that gimmicks are cheap, unsustainable, rarely work and moved on, to put the client first – where they always should have been in the fist place.

They have realized that success is based on customer satisfaction that can only happen with delivering what the customer wants, not what the product developer assumes they want.

An awareness of what people want and the way that they would like to receive it are essential characteristics that you need to both recognize, and deliver, in ways that will endear you to your readers; those people who you hope will become subscribers to your business and eventually paying customers.

You cannot, nor should not expect success, and repeat success, by throwing content at them that above all, is insulting them.

You may get away with it for a short while, but it’s not a formula for long-term success.

The gimmicks category is commonly known as the shiny object syndrome, and frankly the ones who have the most success with this hype style of marketing are not the ones who invest in the products.

Your aim should be to find out as much about what is wanted by the community in your niche as you possibly can…

Think… how you can make THEM successful. Your success will be a naturally occurring process, a by-product of their achievements.

If you’re concerned that maybe you don’t understand how to become aware about people and their personalities I urge you to research! Head over to Amazon and search for pertinent titles, then read, absorb, and learn from them. Don’t just let them sit and collect dust on your shelf.

You will need to invest, time and money, in learning how to progress towards your desires. The better you know your subject, the better you will be able to understand how much your prospects need to know to progress them towards their own success.

Developing your personality is a progression, a journey, not a result or a destination.
