TED 4-70 GPS NOTCH FILTERYour global positioning system receives its posi-tional information at 1575.42 MHz. The communi-cations radios on-board your aircraft typicallybroadcast in the 121.5 MHz range. That is a wideseparation in frequency bandwidth but it's not thecomplete picture. Your comm's are also producingharmonics which can produce significant noise atthe GPS frequency. Now you can filter that signaland avoid potentially hazardous situations.

A simple low cost way to clean up the receivers frequency environ-ment. The TED 4-70 notch filter installs quickly and easily via stan-dard BNC bayonet couplings, in-line between radios and antenna.The 4-70 rejects in excess of 50dB of 1575.42 signal at the source.Each filter is individually tuned and checked to assure maximum per-formance. PS Engineering has again demonstrated its forward thinking, adding value and utility to thelauded PMA8000B audio panel by installing a utility interface on the FRONT of the unit and byadding Smart Function Keys (SFK), allowing pilots to customize their audio panel.

The front-mounted, 2.5mm multipurpose jack will give pilots unprecedented access to their audio panel by allowing connection of a cell phone,portable music devices, or audio announcements directly into the audio panel. Not only have PS Engineering's designers added the jack to thepanel, but new audio panel configuration controls are now available from the front panel, making the PMA8000B the most flexible audio panelin the world.These new capabilities are a direct result of recent advances in avionics for situational awareness as well as new pilot requirements. For anexample, when flying with the new GARMIN GPS396, the front panel utility jack is perfect and convenient way to hook up its audio output.PS Engineering incorporated some "smarts" with this new jack. When used as an entertainment input, the music is directed to the crew, andPS Engineering's patented SoftMute functions normally.
