AeroShell Multi-Grade Piston Engine Oil

AeroShell Oil W 15W-50 is a unique blend of high quality mineral oil and over 50% synthetic

hydrocarbon base stocks, plus the AeroShell Oil W ashless dispersant additive system. This

semi-synthetic blend offers high performance in a wide variety of applications and conditions.

The synthetic base stock performance provides for better cold temperature pumping and protec-

tion than single grade oils. In addition, the blend of synthetic and high quality mineral base

stocks provide high temperature performance superior to that of other fully approved aircraft

piston engine oils. The mineral base stocks help disperse lead by-products of combustion,

thereby keeping engines free of "grey paint" or lead sludge that can be a problem with some

fully synthetic oils.

The anti-wear additive system in AeroShell Oil W 15W-50 provides outstanding wear protec-

tion for critical camshafts, lifters and other high wear components. The anti-corrosion additive

package in AeroShell Oil W 15W-50 helps protect low usage engines and engines in high hu-

Phillips 66 Piston Engine Oils

Phillips X/C - X/C 20W-50 is the first approved multiviscos-

ity aviation oil for opposed piston engines. It provides better

engine performance than any single grade oil in all

weather conditions. X/C 20W-50 is formulated

with an ashless dispersant package allowing for

cleaner engine operation. X/C 20W-50 is recom-

mended for break-in. It provides a cleaner and

quicker break-in than traditional all mineral single

grade oils. Plus, X/C is an operational oil so there

is no need to switch oils after break-in. X/C 20W-

50 utilizes all petroleum base oils which provide

excellent solvency and is successful in preventing

lead and lead salts.

X/C 25W-60 is the first and only multiviscosity

aviation oil designed and approved for radial engines originally

designed to run on 120 grade. It has many benefits, such as

improved oil flow at startup, quicker warm-up time, cooler

operating temperatures and a cleaner operating engine. X/C

25W-60 also has proven corrosion protection in extreme condi-

tions. X/C 25W-60 can be used year-round, during break-in

and on to TBO.

In addition to being an ashless dispersant

(AD), Phillips Victory 100 AW includes an

approved anti-wear (AW) additive to protect

high-performance aircraft engines. It is pre-

blended with Lycoming approved anti-wear

additive (LW-16702).

Type M is generally recom-

mended and used as a break-

in oil for newly overhauled

aircraft engines. Type M is generally used by

engine overhaul and repair shops for the initial

run-in of aircraft piston engines. Type M 20W

-50 is designed for owners and pilots who

want the performance of a multi-viscosity,

mineral based piston engine aviation oil with-

out dispersant additives.

Shell’s collaboration with turbine engine manufacturers has

led to the development of a complete range of turbine en-

gine oils, from mineral oil formulations to leading edge,

fully synthetic hindered esters. AeroShell Turbine Oils

have demonstrated their flexibility for use both inside and

outside today's hostile turbine engine environ-

ment.

Turbine 500 - A 5 mm2/s synthetic hindered

ester oil incorporating a carefully selected and

balanced combination of additives to improve

thermal and oxidation stability and metal pas-

sivation.

Turbine 555 - An advanced 5 mm2/s syn-

thetic hindered ester oil incorporating a finely

balanced blend of additives to improve ther-

mal and oxidation stability and to increase the

load carrying ability of the base oil.

Turbine 560 - A third generation, high per-
