make some changes, such as adding a logo to their clothing or eye colour.

Bespoke actions The avatars can also be programed to perform bespoke actions although this is a lot more complicated and much

slower to implement. E.g. to salute.

Action triggers

The actions that the an avatar performs can be relatively easily controlled. Typical triggers could be for the avatar to

do something at a certain point in time; when a key is pressed (eg by researcher); or if the participant does

something e.g. gets within a specified distance of an avatar, or walks behind them..
