BEYOND THE STARSMovies and fashion are inseparable. In the 30’s Hollywood became fashion’s capital city and poured out the stars embodying the era’s beauty ideals. The wardrobe of movie stars such as Greta Garbo or Marlene Dietrich was copied by everyone, from waitresses to wealthy housewives. Although a lot of time passed since then, celebrities of the dream factory are still able to inspire fashion designers with their unique styles. This is clearly visible in the current trends: we will come across some colours, styles and acces-sories inspired by them.There is no one single authoritative era in the 2017/18 autumn-winter season. On the contrary, designers let themselves be in-spired by the great classics of style history. The colour palette offers some timeless shades, such as Ruby red, burgundy, but also navy blue, mustard yellow or terra-cotta and even dark green. Patterns are reminiscent of the 60s: the big revenant is the plaid, but patterns are not missing either from the catwalks. But the feminine, richly pleated dresses of the 30’s are also coming back in the form of tulle ruffled garments. Tops are also reminiscent of this era: turtlenecks are conquering this year, too. The masculine shoulder padded jackets of the 40’s are once again coming back after a long time and this masculine line is resurrected by the wide-cut pants projecting self-confidence. But for the time being, we do not have to say goodbye to the Monroe style, tight, close-fitting pieces either, as the traditional pencil shape midi skirts are also popular this season.

EVERYTHING ABOUT MARILYNMarilyn Monroe is still authoritative when it comes to style, glamour or fashion. Although everyone thinks of golden blonde tresses, cat eyes and abundant red lips when her name is mentioned, but the secret of this 20th-century celebrity was not only these attributes. The name of your blog – Fifty Pairs of Shoes – tells us you are a passionate collector of shoes. What footwear would you recommend for the season?

Yes, this is my passion and I haven’t been aware of it until the idea of a blog took shape. Then I realised I might have a bit too many of them… If I have to choose three now, I would recommend a pair of flat walking boots, a pair of high heeled ankle boots and a pair of low shoes of a lighter colour.

The MOM Park Shopping Days are soon here again. Do you have a good strategy for the coupon campaigns?

I always plan in advance what it is that’s missing from my wardrobe, or what is the actual trend I want to build into it. I make a list and I look for the items con-sciously. In effect, I only invest into items I can wear again and again later on.

What is your advice, what should we buy on such occasions?

Rather than basic and simply clothes I recommend premium products and more expensive items, so combined with the sales you can find bargain prices for your designer favourites.

As a blogger and true fashionista, you must always be up-to-date with the latest trends – what do you think are the must-have items this autumn and winter?

Midi skirts and jumpers were the big favourites of last year and they have not disappeared from the shelves of the shops this year either. In addition, I would point out oversize blazers, retro flowery prints, thick belts and gold and silver accessories as the hit items for the next season. As for coats, the classical trench coat is back to provide you with a really feminine and sophis-ticated appearance.

Where do you get inspiration of the latest trends?

The shows of the fashion weeks provide the major source of inspiration, but the community sites of my favourite foreign bloggers and designers also have an impact on me.

How much do you follow the events of different Fashion Weeks? Are there any shows you want to take part at?

I enthusiastically follow them every year and if time allows, I do not leave out live broadcasts. To get to New York and Paris and to watch the shows of my favourite designers live is my greatest dream – a Christian Dior or Chanel show is on top of my list.

The wonderful Szalajka Valley can be an amazing destination for an autumn hike. As a spectator what films do you prefer if you go to the movie theatre?

Nowadays I rarely get a chance, but in the past I watched almost every movie that was shown in theatres. I don’t have a particular genre that sticks out, but I prefer dramas over comedies. My last experience at the movies was Dunkirk, directed by Christopher Nolan.

You have a daughter, Bella. Because of her you must see a lot of cartoons - which are your favourites?

At her age they are like sponges so we always make sure she is watching the right kind of cartoon for her current emotional and intellectual level. These days she is getting better acquainted with Disney-classics. She has seen Snow White, The Lion King and The Jungle Book.

Can you relax during movies, or do you watch all the scenes with a profes-sional eye?

I can totally sit back and relax, but obviously if there is a huge mistake, I will catch it. With Hungarian films it often happens that an acquaintance or a friend pops up on the screen and then it becomes difficult to be detached.

We could see you in Made in Hungária as an episode actor, but in Pappa Pia you made a return to the big screen. How does it feel?

Actually, it feels kind of vulnerable: they often identify the lead actor with their role in the given film, so the love-hate relationship is extremely pro-nounced. Obviously you have to be able to deal with that. Especially now, when social media has come into a larger role and we get feedback from the audience almost immediately.

This year you have shown us your comedic and dramatic abilities. Do you specifically target these vastly differing roles?

The only conscious targeting that I do is that I accept roles in which I see some imagination. For example, in Attila Szász’s new historical thriller, Apró mesék (Teeny Stories), I play something I have always wanted to play, a very complex character. These more serious roles are closer to home for me, but I believe that making people laugh is the hardest and technically the biggest challenge as an actor.

Are you critical when watching your own acting?

Very. Outside input is important, but only I can decide whether what I am seeing measures up to what I imagined. Most of the time I concentrate on my mistakes, which is a must if I want to grow as an actor.
