2015 JSAE/SAE Powertrains, Fuels and Lubricants Meeting 1 - 4 September 2015, Kyoto, Japan

Energy Trend Implications on Fuels and Automobiles toward 2035Energy issues pertaining to automobiles have undergone a quiet but profound transformation in recent years. There have been unexpected changes in conventional future prospects. These include a shift in the global primary energy situation due to the shale gas revolution in the U.S. and other developments, the new energy landscape in Japan, and a change in public values in each country. There is a need to answer the new question of how energy should ideally be used for automobiles in the future. It is also necessary to meet conventional automobile energy demands in terms of environmental protection and CO2 emission reductions.

Against this backdrop, the 2015 International Powertrains, Fuels & Lubricants Meeting will feature keynote speeches on related issues and challenges in the fields of fuel and automobiles, and will also include an Executive Panel Session in which the specifics of fuel and automobiles in 2035 will be discussed in the context of the presentations given. Both sections are expected to broaden our views regarding the future of automobiles and automobile energy.

expected to broaden our views regarding the future of automobiles and automobile energy. In addition, the Technical Workshop will feature intensive discussions on specific issues to provide, along with the technical presentations given in the sessions on the latest fuel and automobile technologies, opportunities to gain in-depth understanding of related issues. The 2015 International Powertrains, Fuels & Lubricants Meeting aims to contribute to the development of new fuel and automobile technologies by providing broader perspectives and valuable insights than ever.Contact

Design. Build. Race! Greenpower inspires engineers to think sustainably

Greenpower is a fast growing competition where students design, build, and race an electric car - improving skills, devleloping hands-on knowledge, and enjoying the thrill of reaching the finish line first... if they're fast enough.

The competition spans from primary school to university, offering students and young engineers of all ages the chance to get involved in something both educational and exciting. Since 1999, Greenpower have been setting up events at key race circuits around the United Kingdom, now working with 500 schools and 10,000 students. The next step? Going international, taking the competition to countries including the United States, Brazil, Germany, and China amongst others.

This year Greenpower organised the School Series alongside Formula E, arranging heats in 5 cities around the world including London, Miami and Berlin. In October, 80 F24 teams and 35 F24+ teams will compete at the International Final at Rockingham, Corby.
