The client has annual revenues 2013 of €3.6 billion, employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide and maintains operations across Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

CLIENT BACKGROUND

With over 3000+ test cases, the quality assurance process for the Client’s application was challenging to maintain. The application was constantly growing (more features were added) and we had to find a way to reduce testing times. There was a need to increase the amount of test cases & test coverage and to improve the overall system quality without introducing additional testing time. Based on this experience, the T/DG Quality Assurance team proposed to automate the testing process in areas where it is possible. Though there were several automation tools available none of them could provide a complete solution that suits the requirements. Even the licensed ones proved to be expensive and had limited solutions.

ABOUT T/DG

Along with the client, Digital decided that the best option would be to follow the approach where we have multiple tools combined with a custom framework. That enables us to form Base-lined effort estimate for automating simple/medium/complex test cases. Eventually all the high priority cases were picked up in collaboration with SME’s (400 test cases were prioritized). As a part of next phase - all test cases were picked up based on priority for the automation suite.
