M.E. Baker's automated nickel plating line pro- duces 6 to 8 loads of a 10 × 24 in. barrel per hour. The line features their unique Integrated Sub Tank Exhaust Manifold (I-Stem), which elimi- nates unsightly overhead duct and the possibility of bath cross contamination due to condensation in overhead duct. The line also includes a semiau- tomatic loading and unloading mechanism that interfaces with a dryer.

A plating dangler system, designed to reduce both plating costs and downtime, features disposable, slip-on dangler heads, which can be at tached to the cable in seconds and removed jus t as quickly once metal deposit has built up on it. A new head is then attached, without disconnecting the cable, and plating can be resumed instantly. Cable life is also prolonged significantly, since hammering to remove deposits becomes unnecessary.
