POLLUTION?y Most automobiles in use today however are propelled

by a internal combustion engine, fueled by deflagrating gasoline (also known as petrol) or diesel.

children and has been connected to elevated bloodpressure and resulting hypertension, heart attacks,and premature death in adults.

pollution is the fact that car emissions arecontributing to an overall warming of the entireplanet, which could destroy the world's food chain..

y They also emit nitrogen and othercontaminants, which settle in water.

y Oil, petroleum products and other toxins from automobileskill fish, plants, aquatic life and even people.

y One quart of oil will contaminate thousands of gallons of water because it doesn't dissolve. These toxins as well astrace metals and degreasing agents used on automobilescontaminate drinking water and can cause major illness.

Some of these toxins and metals are absorbed in various sealife and cause medical problems to people when eaten.Phosphorus and nitrogen cause explosive growth of algae,which depletes water of oxygen, killing fish and aquatic life.
