EMU

• The Australian emu can’t fly.

• But instead it can run very, very fast. It can run up to 50 km/h!

KANGAROO

• The kangaroo is a very friendly animal. They usually live in groups.

• The mommy kangaroo gives birth to a baby kangaroo which usually stays in the mother’s pouch about 5-11 months.

• The kangaroo is a pretty fast runner:56 km/h!

KOALA

• What a cute animal! The koala is absolutely my cup of tea!

• The koala usually lives in the trees. Actually, it is pretty difficult for a koala to move on the ground!

• The koala weighs about 6-8 kg!

PLATYPUS

• What a funny animal with a funny-looking nose!

• It lives about 10-17 years!

• It usually lives in ponds and streams.

GREAT WHITE

• The Great White is a shark. It is the killing king of the Australian animals. It is the most dangerous shark: a real, brutal killer!

• It usually eats different types of fishes and other sea creatures… sometimes even people!!! Well, just kidding… don’t take it seriously!

• The Great White can be 9-12 metres long.

WHALE

• This huge animal is a real beauty. • The whale usually arrives to the Australian

costal areas in June or July.• It loves to jump up and down … and, of course,

it wants to splash water!

FISH

• The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most beautiful places in Australia. Diving there is a dream come true!

• There are - among other things - very colourful fishes, interesting tortoises, awesome sea horses and beautiful plants.

GOANNA

• The goanna looks like a smaller version of a crocodile.

• The goanna spends some time in the trees, eating the leaves.
