Guided Notes, Mate
Aboriginal culture is 40,000 years old. Arnhem Land is the name of a territory which is
currently inhabited by many aboriginals who practice the old customs.
“The dreaming” represents the creation era, when the earth was formless.
The powers that formed the world out of a shapeless mass are still present today, and able to communicate with modern man.
The purpose of chant in Wandjina cave painting rituals refer to parts of the spirit beings’ body.
