CLIMATE

ClimateIn Australia there are six different climatic zones - Tropical, subtropical, desert, temperately, rainforest and grassland climate.

TROPICAL CLIMATEIf you like to be in tropical climates, then you should go to the northern part of Australia. The tropical climate in Australia has a constant temperature mainly above 18 degrees. Australia is well-known for the hot season because Australia is situated south of the equator. In the tropical climate you can find big rain forests. The rainforest covers 4,2 million hectares of Australia’s landmass.

DESERT CLIMATEIf you want to be in desert-climate you should go to the middle of Australia therefore there it is a lot of desert. The deserts of Australia cover 18% of the Australian mainland. It’s extremely warm in the Australian desert areas. It’s one of the most difficult places for survival for human, animals and plants. Here are some famous Australian deserts: Great Victoria Desert, Great Sandy Desert, Western Desert, Tanami Desert, Gibson Desert, Little Sandy Desert, Simpson Desert and Strzelecki Desert among others. The sixth larges desert in the world (in terms of area) and the biggest desert in Australia is Great Victorian Desert.

TEMPERATE CLIMATEIn the southern part of

Australia it is temperate climate. The temperate climate

has cool winters and mild to warm summers. The need for

summer cooling is smaller than the need for winter heating.

SUBTROPICAL CLIMATEAlong the southwest and

northeast cost it is subtropical climate. The subtropic climate

is the most comfortable climate. The subtropical climate zone has

usually short, mild and wet winters. Long, dry and hot summers with a very short

transition between the seasons. (Autumn and spring). This

climate zone is during summer influenced by tropical air

Ayers Rock Its a famous sandstone. It is also called Uluru. Is 600 million years old. Uluru is in the middle of Australian. In the mountains hidden crevices it´s a rich plant and animal life. Uluru it´s a very unique area that takes time to discover through the day. I think there is something for older children. You can hike, bike, watch the sun go up and down its very beautiful there.

Research suggest that Aborigines have lived in Uluru for at least 10 000 years. William Gosse was also the first European to climb ayers rock. When you approach Ayers rock / Uluru can you see the sandstone change colours to red purple, orange, grey and yellow, depending on weather conditions and your distance from it. Most of the mountain is under ground

Uluru is:

862.5 meters above the sea.3.6 km long (2.2) miles Flights to Ayers Rock depart daily from every major airport in Australia.

You can see why the Aboriginal owners call the Uluru climbers "ants".
