A free shuttle bus meets all flights and dropsoff at all accommodation points around theresort, and the shopping centre, every 15 min-utes from 10.30am to 6pm and 6.30pm to12.30am daily.

Uluru Express (%8956 2152; www.uluruexpress.com.au)  falls somewhere between a shuttle-busservice and an organised tour. It providesreturn transport from the resort to Uluru($35/20 adult/child, $40/20 for the sunriseshuttle). Morning shuttles to Kata Tjuta cost

Uluru for sunset and cost $55/30.Hiring a car will give you the flexibility

to visit the Rock and the Olgas as often andwhenever you want. Car-hire companiesHertz (%8956 2244) and Thrifty (%8956 2030) havecounters at the Tour & Information Centre inthe resort shopping centre – both also havedesks at the airport, as does Avis (%8956 2487).

Bike hire is available at Ayers Rock Resort Camp-ground (%8957 7001; per hr $7, per half-/full day $15/20,deposit $200;h7am-8pm).
