AURA T8 ECO SAVER LONG L IFE

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is a tri-phosphor lamp with very

good colour rendering and a Long Life lamp that is developed

to save energy, i.e. your energy consumption could be up to

as much as 12% lower than in your existing luminaire for T8

fluorescent lamps.

The service life of the lamp is 50,000 hours when operated

with an electronic ballast and 36,000 hours when operated

with a magnetic ballast and starter.

The lamp is designed for indoor applications such as

general industrial premises, public buildings, offices, schools,

hospitals and shops.

Lifetime

A lamps service life is identified by the elapsed time when the

amount of light in an installation reaches 80% of its initial

100-hour value. According to IEC/EN 60081, the service life of

the lamp failure rate and the lumen depreciation is calculated

based on the lamp being operated with a switching cycle of

three hours.

The three hour switching cycle is defined by having the

lamp switched on for two hours and 45 minutes and then

switched off for 15 minutes.

A switching cycle that is more suited to common use is

the 12 hour switching cycle, this is defined by having the lamp

switched on for 11 hours and then switched off for one hour.

The lifetime shown is accounted with a 10% mortality rate.

Technical information

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is suitable for operation in lumin-

aires where a slightly higher temperature occurs. The data is

specified for an ambient temperature of +30°C. It fits in all

luminaires developed and assembled for T8 (26 mm) fluores-

cent lamps. The Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life range is designed

for operation with electronic ballast (preferably warm start)

and magnetic ballast with starter.

With Aura T8 Eco Saver Cool Long Life (Ø 32 mm) and Aura

T8 Eco Saver Reflector Long Life (Ø 32 mm) energy savings up

to 12% is reached in ambient temperatures as low as +15°C.

Overview

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is the first energy saving fluores-

cent lamp in Long Life version, a combination that make you

save both in energy and in maintenance. Your energy

consumption could be as much as 12% lower depending on

your current solution, without even changing the luminaires.

This is a perfect lamp for a customer who wants to reduce

the energy consumption and maintenance costs in a simple

way. Besides saving money you also reduce your CO2-emis-

sons, since the life time of the lamp is three times longer than

that of a standard lamp.

For environments with slightly lower temperatures, consi-

der using Aura T8 Eco Saver Cool Long Life.

Group replacement of fluorescent lamps provides an opti-

mal control of operational costs and gives a uniform level of

light. For economical and environmental reasons Aura Light

recommends group replacement of Long Life fluorescent

lamps.

Long Life Technology

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is developed around our patented

cathode shield construction. This design provides a unique

fluorescent lamp with an exceptional long service life combi-

ned an improved end-of-life protection against overheating.

The lumen depreciation process is minimized with a protection

layer inside the glass tube.

To be able to cash in on up to 10% lower energy consump-

tion the electronic ballast used need to be current-controlled.

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is a high colour rendering

tri-phosphor lamp (Ra 85) and is available in several different

colours.

Long Life guarantee

Aura Light guarantees 36,000 hours service life (Magnetic

ballast + Starter) and 50,000 hours (Electronic ballast, warm

start) for Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life for installations that

comply with the relevant standards.

Aura T8 Eco Saver Long Life is developed and manufactured

in accordance with the IEC/EN 60081-standard. Continuous strict quality control processes secure fluorescent lamps of top quality.
