August Rush A musically gifted orphan, Evan (Freddie Highmore), runs away from his orphanage and searches New York City for his birth parents. On his journey, he's taken under the wing of the Wizard (Robin Williams), a homeless man who lives in an abandoned theater. After discovering his talent, the Wizard gives Evan the name "August Rush" and devises a plan to profit from his talent. Little does Evan know that his parents, Lyla (Keri Russell) and Louis (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), are searching for him too.

A brunch will be held for you and your families following the 8:30 AM Mass this Sunday, May 19. St. Mary’s parishioners would like to

congratulate you on this wonderful achievement!

Congratulations to the Recipients of the DCCW “WOMAN OF DISTINCTION”

St. Mark’s Church is proud to announce our Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Woman of Distinction Honoree for 2019, Nancy Stocker. Nancy has been a faithful, active member of St. Mark’s for most of her life. While raising three energetic children and holding a full-time job for 40 years as a dental assistant, she has served as the president of the Altar Society for five years, the coordinator of our annual Turkey Dinner for six years and a PSR teacher for over 10 years, especially preparing children for their First Holy Communion. Nancy currently serves as Eucharistic Minister and for well over 30 years now continues to organize St. Mark’s responsibility in the Bread of Love program for Winchester. Criteria for this award include “actively living her faith, displaying her spirituality and sharing her time and talents through acts of service and leadership toward her parish and community.” Nancy certainly embodies these qualifications, and we not only congratulate Nancy but thank her for her loving devotion to St. Mark’s!

Lisa Welch is being recognized on behalf of the countless lives she has touched at St. Mary’s.

• She has become very active in the growth of our Parish by assisting in the RCIA classes every year since she herself joined the Church.

• She and her husband, Mark, have initiated the Bible Study Program which is held every Wednesday evening for ten weeks in the Spring. These classes continue to grow in size each year, and even extend to include persons from outside our Parish, and from other denominations.

• She is an active member of St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society, and can always be counted on to help with cheerfulness and determination.

• She helps with our Sunshine Committee by visiting church members in our local nursing homes.

• Most importantly, she has done a lot of evangelization within her family for the Catholic faith and also through posting pro-life and catechesis on Facebook.

For Relatives Who Have Not the Faith ERCIFUL Lord, who prayed that there be one flock and one shepherd, I ask the light of faith for those who are related to me and do not know you in your Eucharistic presence. Give them the

fullness of your faith. Give them the joy of your protecting presence. Bring them into the one fold of which you are the master and Lord. Forgive them their sins and teach them the way of repentance. In the end bring them into the larger circle of your family, to God our Father, to Mary our Mother, and to you our beloved brother. Amen.
