The board has recently approved an increase in the monthly debt assessment across all membership categories. This change will generate enough monthly income to cover the outstanding loan payment. I went into the locker room to post the score and clicked through the scores hole by hole only to have the GHIN computer ask me if this was really David Wagner posting this score. David Wagner– President

I want to thank each and every member for their patience over the past year. LCC

has gone through many staff changes which I believe are working out. The next

phase that the board will be working on is improving the financial position of the

club. The board has recently approved an increase in the monthly debt assessment

across all membership categories. This change will generate enough monthly

income to cover the outstanding loan payment. We are currently working with our

bank and speaking with others in trying to obtain better terms on the outstanding

loan for the club. This will take time but I assure you that we are working on

behalf of membership to make the best decisions. We are working on making

changes that at times may not be popular but will solidify the long term success of

our club. I welcome your thoughts and look forward to conversations with any of

you that have questions.

I have mentioned this in previous newsletters but the best way to get the most out

of your membership is to use the club. Whether it be playing in tournaments,

hanging out at the pool or attending one of the many holiday themed events, we

have great facilities, staff and members. This next request may not be for all, but

we are approaching LCC Board of Directors elections. It is a great opportunity to

give back to the club. If you think you might have interest, please ask a current

board member and we can give you guidance on the appropriate steps you will

need to take.

As President of LCC, I have had comments from many members and try to listen to

them all. This past Saturday I played golf in the morning and played one of my

A Message from Your General Manager

Dear Lancaster Members,

First, I would like to thank all the members who attended the Annual Meeting last

month. The Board of Directors and Management went through the financials of

the club, both current and for the fiscal year of 2018. The dialogue and questions

that followed the presentation were insightful and well received. I am more

positive than ever that the club is moving in the right direction towards being

fiscally stable soon. The entire presentation along with the current financials are

located on the members’ side of the website.

Secondly, I would like to recognize Terry Reese, Rich Lund and Jeff Fancher for

their recent donations to the club. Mr. Reese and Mr. Lund footed the bill to

replace the fountain on hole #18. This was a significant purchase and is a vital

necessity for both the aesthetic and health of the pond. Mr. Fancher has donated

the yardage marker plates, handicap parking signs, pool menu sign and half-way

house signs located on holes #4 and #11. These enhancements are much

appreciated and have really helped spruce up the overall appearance of the club.

Thank you to all three members for stepping up and making LCC look much better.

Lastly, I would like to ask each member to think about their friends, family and

other people within their circle of influence who may be looking to join our great

club. I think all would agree that the overall atmosphere and environment has

changed in a short period of time. Late summer and early fall are the times of

year many members of other clubs think about moving to a new club. We would

be happy to set up a round of golf and club tour on your behalf for any prospect

who you believe might be interested in LCC. Our goal is to get to and maintain at

least 250 Full Time Equivalent members, which should allow us to operate in the

black. As we stand today, we are at 222 FTE, so our goal is in sight. Any help you

can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and see you around the club.

Sincerely,

Raymond Tugend, PGA

News From The Golf Shop

The Men’s & Ladies Championship will take place Saturday August 10th and Sunday August

11th. The cost is $35++ per player for Trophy (men’s overall) and prize fund for gross and

net winners in each flight. Food will available Sunday Afternoon to watch the leaders come

off the course. Men’s tee times will start at 8 am. Both days based on flights. Women’s tee

times will start a 1/2hr after the last men’s time, approximately 10:45am– 11:30am. No

pairings request may be made. Pairings are made by handicap and flight day 1 and scores

within flight day 2. Deadline to register in the golf shop is Sunday August 4th by 5pm in the

golf shop. Reminder, there is no play permitted out Saturday or Sunday morning before the

championship to allow the maintenance staff to prepare the course. Tee times will open up a

1/2hr after the last tee time both days. Check the tee sheet for availability.

In addition to the above mentioned championship, we also have a Men’s guest day on

Wednesday 8/14 12:00pm SG, a Women’s guest day on Thursday 8/15 2pm SG and couples

night out, glow ball version, on Friday 8/23 at 8:30pm. Please call or stop by the golf shop

for any of these events.

With fall coming, high school golf matches will be starting. Once the match dates are

approved, we will update everyone. Typically the matches are played on Tuesday/ Thursday

in September and the first week in October. They will start between 3pm & 4pm depending

on the date.

Men’s Fall League will take place again this season. It begins Tuesday August 27th and runs

every Tuesday through October 1st. Due to the league and high school matches, the course

will remain closed Tuesday evening through October 1st. More details to follow soon.

Lastly, we will be aerating the golf course on Tuesday August 22nd depending on weather.

This would be a great day to visit one of our reciprocal courses. Most of the course will be

work in progress resulting in skipping many holes while the crew finished the aeration

processes. If we have good weather and no equipment delays, I would not anticipate the

entire course opening for uninterrupted play until after 5pm. Call the golf shop for more

details as we get closer to the date.

See you at the club!

Womens’s Association News

Mary Ellen Puleri

President

Hello August!

Congratulations to Lori Stilwell for retaining her President’s Cup title for a second year. All of the matches

throughout were well played. We hope that next year will bring an expanded field of ladies into this match

play competition.

What great weather we had for the summer handicap on Sunday July 28th. It was a little windy but the rain

stayed away. We had a 9 hole and 18 hole flights this year with dinner on the patio following. It turns out we

all had our horror holes that day! Oh well, this game just keeps us coming back.

Now moving on to August –

The Club Championship is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday 8/10 & 8/11. We will be teeing off both days

after the men’s early tee times. The sign-up sheet is in the Pro Shop.

We have a ladies 11hole guest day coming up on August 15 with a 2 pm shotgun start. A stress-free, mystery

format with a few contest holes throughout. Start calling your friends now and get your name on the sign-up

sheet in the pro shop. If you don’t have a full foursome don’t let that prevent you from playing. We will make

every attempt to fill your group. Please do not wait until the last minute to register as the slots are filling up

fast. Ladies never go away disappointed after playing at one of our guest days.

League play will be winding down as Championship week is August 14. The following week will be a fun Ryder

cup night with our closing dinner for league (including 2 and out ladies) on August 21.

Finally, we are once again seeking nominations for candidates to serve on the Women’s Association board for

next year. We will have 3 available positions to fill and Candace Kelley would like to hear from you if

interested. Please consider becoming a candidate. We need your ideas, talents and energy to keep our

association strong.

Save these September dates:

Fall Harvest – Sunday September 8 – 9 and 18 hole events.

Association Closing Dinner and Elections:

Thursday September 26 – 5:30pm cocktails and voting begins.

Further details to follow.
