Get to Know Your All-Stars!Last Month, the Blue Jays had three players selected to attend the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Josh Donaldson and Russell Martin

travelled to Cincinnati, Ohio for the 86th MLB All-Star Game. Jose Bautista unfortunately didn’t make the trip to rest an injury he had earlier this season,

but he is certainly still an All-Star!

2nd ALL-STAR GAME APPEARANCEJosh Donaldson set a MLB single-season voting record with more than 14 million votes cast for him this year. The Blue Jays’ third baseman is

no stranger to the All-Star Game as this was his second straight year being named as the American League’s starting third baseman. This year he was the first player to walk TWICE in an All-Star Game since 2004. Josh also participated in this year’s

Home Run Derby, but lost out in the second round to eventual HR Derby champion Todd Frazier from

the Cincinnati Reds.

6th ALL-STAR GAME APPEARANCEOpting to rest an earlier injury, Bautista was unfortunately unable to participate in this

year’s All-Star Game. As of August 7, Jose is batting .235 with 24 home runs (HR) and 75 runs batted in (RBI). We hope he rests up

and continues to bring his home run skills to the Blue Jays for the remainder of the 2015

baseball season!

4th ALL-STAR GAME APPEARANCEThis was Martin’s fourth appearance in the All-Star Game; however, it was his first as a member of the Blue Jays after signing

during the last off season. Russell was the lone Canadian player to be selected to play

in the All-Star Game this year.

Welcome to the Team!As July came to an end, the Blue Jays made some big roster moves which made this year’s trade deadline very exciting! I would like to

introduce you to five new faces on the team!

Troy TulowitzkiThe Blue Jays would like to welcome this new shortstop to the city of Toronto! Troy comes to us as part of a trade with the Colorado Rockies for Jose Reyes as well as three Minor League players. He is a five-time MLB All-Star, a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, and a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner. See you on the field, Troy!

David PriceThis left-handed pitcher comes to Toronto from the Detroit Tigers in a blockbuster trade deal that was made just one day before the July 31 trade deadline. David is a five-time All-Star, the Cy Young Award winner in 2012, the 2014 MLB strikeout champion, the American League ERA leader in 2012 and the American League wins leader in 2012. The Blue Jays are thrilled to have you, David!

LaTroy HawkinsAs one of the veterans of the game of baseball, LaTroy Hawkins comes with a lot of experience in his move to the Blue Jays! As a right-handed relief pitcher, he is the only current active player to be a member of the 1,000-games-pitched club. On August 5, 2015 Hawkins became the 13th player in MLB history to record a save against all 30 MLB teams! Welcome LaTroy!

Mark LoweThe Blue Jays were fortunate to get a second relief pitcher prior to the trade deadline. Mark Lowe comes to Toronto from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Rob Rasmussen, Jacob Brentz, and Nick Wells. While his main pitches include a slider and a circle changeup, his fastball has been clocked as high as 101 miles per hour – wow, that’s fast! Welcome to Canada, Mark!

Ben RevereRounding out the new faces the Blue Jays are excited to welcome outfielder Ben Revere from the Philadelphia Phillies! Ben is often recognized for his speed and his defensive skills as well as his ability to keep his teammates laughing on and off the field. We are excited to see Ben in action!
