Richland County Health and Human Services Senior Nutrition Program Receives $500.00 for Participation in Meals on Wheels America’s 2015 March for Meals
Funding for the 13th Annual Awareness Campaign Made Possible by
Subaru of America, Inc.’s "Share the Love" Event
Richland Center, WI, June 29, 2015 - Richland County Health and Human Services Senior Nutrition Program is proud to announce that it has received a $500.00 grant from Meals on Wheels America for its participation in the 13th Annual March for Meals campaign. This
year’s grants were made possible through the generosity of Subaru of America, Inc. and its seventh annual "Share the Love" event. During the event, Subaru donated $250 to the owner’s
choice of participating charities for every new vehicle purchased or leased.
"We deliver more than just a meal; we deliver warm smiles, hot meals and peace of mind to the home bound seniors within our communities. Drivers serve as our eyes and ears, often reporting health and well-being concerns before they become a crisis. Without the
compassionate volunteers and meal site managers we would not have this remarkable program." ~Tanya Webster
03/18/15 Culver’s Share Night was held to benefi t Meals on Wheels of Richland County for the March for Meals Campaign. Roadrunner Café, food manager, Angie Arneson and Nutrition Program Coordinator, Tanya Webster along with many others helped that night
($250.00 was donated to the program from Richland Center Culver's for the 3/18/15 Share Night)
In total, $370,250 is being granted to 258 local Meals on Wheels programs and two Meals on Wheels America-affi liated State Associations based on their March for Meals efforts. These funds have helped in the purchase of more home delivered meal trays and bowls with lids.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for the love and support you gave us in our loss of our Preston. As we sat down and wanted to thank each and everyone of you, it was beyond overwhelming. It is difficult to find the words to
express how grateful we are for your expression of kindness, support and love to our family.
Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
Or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a funeral spray,
If so we saw it there.
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
As any friend could say;
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought of us that day.
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so much whatever the part.
He had touched so many lives in his nineteen years (almost twenty) of life. Each day is a struggle for us but as Preston
quoted and we have to remember; “Life is like a bicycle, you have to keep moving forward to keep your balance.”
And as we all try to move forward from family to friends, we have to remember he will live forever in Our Hearts.
Once again, We want to thank each and every one of you from the depths of our hearts.
The Family of Preston Nelson

The Richland Center Shopping News has been delighted to sponsor a hat and mitten drive for the past several years.
Your generous donations are distributed via the Salvation Army to individuals in our area.
The need within the community continues to be great. So, this year in an effort to expand our collections we’re also looking for
individuals who knit or crochet. If you don’’t know how to knit or crochet you can still be involved by making a donation of yarn or money for us to purchase supplies. We will match up our
volunteer crafters with the materials that are donated. The crafters will create warm, handmade winter accessories that are sure to be appreciated by
many within the county. Please call Kenda at 647-2911 for more details on being a volunteer crafter.
Donations of materials or cash can be made at the Shopping News, 272 N. Main Street, Richland Center.
Please hurry! We need to start now to ensure we have a large collection for the winter season. Our deadline to deliver these
