Hello Family,

Welcome to the Wimes/Armstrong reunion. Many of you may be looking at the name and wondering whose reunion you’re attending. You may spell the name differently, but you’re where you should be and we would like to WELCOME you to Albany, Georgia, the ‘Good Life City’.

We have made great strides since this reunion began humbly but strongly

at the home of Uncle Gordon and Aunt Lillen’s in Arlington, Georgia in 1972. We have gotten older and have grown in faith, love and life. We have lost many soldiers on this journey and remained a strong family unit.

My family and I are your hosts this 2007 year and would like to extend our appreciation for all your help in making this reunion what you want it to be. Without you, it couldn’t have been done. I know that with your participation in the planned activities, you’ll have a fun, informative and enjoyable time at this reunion. If we can be of assistance to you in any shape, form or fashion, please don’t hesitate to ask.

I would like to say again, WELCOME, WELCOME, and WELCOME! I would

like to end this welcome with an empowering song that speaks volumes. Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!

The Wimes/Armstrong reunion was organized at the home of Amos Gordon and Lillen Winn in Arlington, Georgia (1972). It was held annually for 2- years, biennially from 1991-1996 and annually up to the present (2007). Families have traveled from four cities and two states. Many of the family activities and main dinner are conducted on the 2nd Saturday in August. However, the host may choose the date which best fits the reunion schedule. Rodrika and Roderica fraternal twins, respectively, were born in October 2005 to Roderick Plant. They are the granddaughters of Jacqueline W. Plant Mckinney, great granddaughters to the late Sally D. Wims Plant and the great great granddaughters of the late Lindsey Wynn, Sr.

CONGRATULATION to Shaun and Schawanna Rooks on their new home.

Chief Willie Marshall and his family, his wife Karetha and daughter Chelsea, have been traveling. From the latter days of March to the first week in April, they toured England and Paris, France. In June he attended the Police & Fire Olympic Games in Sarasota, Florida. In July they toured central Florida colleges, attended the FBI National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona and toured Wyoming; and attended an Administrator's Retreat in Naples, Florida with Karetha. Chelsea has completed the 11th grade with a 4.65 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

In addition, he received awards for reading above his grade level and scoring 975 out of 1000 on a recent reading test.
