President’s Report – July 2019
Hello to all club members.
BOY!! The All Ford Day, what can I say? To start with a big thank you must go to the club
members and partners who gave up their Saturday to help set up by marking out trade stand
areas, banging in star pickets to put up all our signs, organising the registration area and with
plenty of other jobs allocated to everyone was amazing but not to mention thee Day Sunday.
Our club members should be patting yourselves on your back. Our event this year was the
biggest ever in all the times we have been running this event. We had 1651 cars on display
but not to mention the number of spectators coming through the gates to view these
magnificent cars but also viewing the drags. The whole weekend ran very smoothly and the
amount of calls I have received thanking our club on a wonderful and well-run day. I am one
very Happy President. THANK YOU EVERYONE
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS (now I have your attention again) – Christmas is
approaching really fast so we need to start thinking of where as a club we can go. We are
after any new suggestions so please bring to our next meeting, email me or call. Time is
running out. All committee members details are on the front page of the.
Don’t forget that the AGM is approximately 4 weeks away and we need to form a new
committee to run our club through the 2019-2020 year. Please think about how you can help
your club in this space. If you are thinking about nominating and would like to know more
about the position please feel free to come and speak to one of committee members or you
can give me a call.
On behalf of our club we would like to send our condolences to Darren Fleming and Family
on losing their precious daughter Kirsty. She was so young but now she is flying high with
her brother. Also, we were informed that Peter Brereton passed away with cancer. May you
both rest in peace. Fly high angles and remember your memories will live on in our hearts.
Feel free to contact me by email [email protected] with any suggestions,
complaints or compliments regarding the club.
See you all at our next meeting.
So, all for now cheers.
Mick.
Great to have so many people help
A Fantastic Day!!! Approx 1650 cars on the grounds
great weather heaps of public and a big thanks to all
the club members that helped on the day. It made it a
lot easier with the extra hands. Have had great
feedback on Facebook and in emails from different
people.
Possible date for 2020 is 12th July.

also passed away this July. Peter Brereton
Peter used to drive a Mustang when he first joined the club,
then he bought an XY. Peter was known for wearing what
was call a Pith Hat when he drove the car. He and Dinky Di

Born in Redcliffe 1933 lost his mother at a very
early age and went to live with aunts in Dugandan
near Boonah. Started working driving Bullocky teams
at 12 years old. Came back to Brisbane where he met
his wife Maureen they were married for 60 years
before her passing. Early in married life he joined the
airforce but found he was better suited to the army,
was in the royal australion engineers for 20 years
saw action in Viet nam, then moved on to linesman
with Telstra until retirement, moved to Nanango
where he has more time with his several cars and
shows them at local car shows, but his pride and joy
is his 68 GT of course.
Our ever young 87-year-old club member from Nanango Eddie, Very Happy Birthday from

A man and woman were married for many years.
Whenever there was a confrontation, yelling could be heard deep into the night.
The old man would shout, "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave
and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"
Neighbours feared him. The old man liked the fact that he was feared.
Then one evening, he died when he was 98. After the burial, her neighbours,
concerned for her, asked, "Aren't you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his
way out of the grave and haunt you for the rest of your life?"
The wife said, "Let him dig. I had him buried upside down...and I know he won't ask for
directions.
This is the honest truth!!!!! TWO DIFFERENT DOCTORS' OFFICES
Boy, if this doesn't hit the nail on the head, I don't know what does! Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement. The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week. The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then.
Why the different treatment for the two patients? The FIRST is a Golden Retriever. The SECOND is a Senior Citizen.
Next time take me to a vet!

Sunday, 28th July, was the day for the 2019 Cyclones Rod & Custom Car Club 'Show ‘n’ Shine', held at the beautiful Jezzine Barracks in Townsville. The annual event attracted over 170 vehicles and motorbikes with several car club displays on the day, including the Falcon GT Owners Club.
We arrived into
Jezzine just after
7.00am to display all
our cars for the event.
Our GT Club had
seven cars on display
with some members
displaying their cars
for the first time. We
set up the shade marquee and we were able to
display our GT Club wind banners. They looked
really good.
Falcon GT Owners Club members and others
with their cars were:
Luke J: Red Pepper XB GT Sedan
Pat L: Polar White XT GT sedan
Peter A: Burnt Orange XB GT Coupe
Kevin E: Ermine White XY GT sedan (South African)
Nick A: Polar White XA GT Coupe
Rob & Kathy L: Silver Fox XW GT (Replica) sedan
Sam DB: Silhouette Black BF GT sedan
As can be seen from the photos, it was a fine, sunny
day, with spectators viewing all the cars that were on
display. Pack up time on the Strand was at 2.30pm,
with trophy presentations after that.
Big thanks to all the GT Club members that attended,
and helped with the set-up of our display.
Special mention: GT Club members - Robert and
Katherine Larsen (their photo in front of their Silver Fox XW GT) tied the knot on the 15th
July. The Northern members of the GT Owner's Club wish Rob and Kath y a big
congratulations and all the best on their marriage.
Lastly, please refer to our GT Club Calendar in the
