Pickleball is a fun, exciting sport which has a combination of elements found in similar sports such as tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is a paddle sport (played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes) created for all ages and skill levels with simple rules that makes it easy for anyone to learn quickly.

While the game can be played both indoors or outdoors, here at The Villages we have the only outdoor Pickleball courts on the island! Our courts are available to both residents and the general public alike and we have competitive rental rates.

INGREDIENTS

• ¾ Part Malibu Rum• ¾ Part Absolut Vodka• ¾ Part Ice Tea• Soda Water• 1 Slice Orange

HOW TO MIX

Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add Malibu rum, Absolut Vodka and ice tea. Shake and strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Stir. Top up with soda water. Garnish with orange.

• Buy enough bags! You may think you need only two bags but do you really want to put the eggs on top of the laundry detergent? This is trial and error but after a few weeks you should know exactly how many bags you need.

• Keep your bags in the car! How many times have you reached the store only to realise you’ve left your bags at home? Always keep a few handy in the car, that way you won’t have to use plastic or purchase more reusable bags.

• Have different coloured bags for particular products, i.e. a green bag for produce, red bag for meat and another colour for household items.

• Set reminders in your phone. If you have a scheduled shopping day, set a reminder in your phone to alarm at the same time every week/month, so you never forget your bags.

• Make it personal. Try sewing or knitting your own bags. Then, you’ll be so eager to show them off that you won’t forget them!
