The story of HCG began in the Fifties when, after having done research on weight loss for 40 years and research on HCG specifically for twenty years, Dr. Simeons reported that patients taking small amounts of HCG, in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, could

lose weight safely and quickly, without exercise, hunger, irritability, muscle injury or weakness.

But all HCG is not created equal. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of confusion created by products being sold without guidance that call themselves “HCG” but do not contain any in their ingredient list. HCG is one of 67 hormones naturally produced in the human body, so if a product states that it is hormone free; it is not HCG. Dr. Simeons’ diet protocol ought not to be followed without real HCG. The Pounds and Inches Away program starts with pharmaceutical HCG.

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is not a growth or sex hormone; it does not feminize men or masculinize women. It is not an appetite suppressant, stimulant or vitamin supplement. Nor does HCG produce weight loss by itself. However, in concert with a very specific balanced diet, and our help in avoiding unexpected environmental or behavioral deviations, HCG will allow the body to naturally pull the nutrients and calories needed from stored fat reserves into the blood stream at the rate of 1500 to 4000 calories per day.

We are sure that those who follow our protocol WILL lose 20-30 pounds in 40 days. These fantastic results ARE typical with our full service packages. The Pounds and Inches Away program is not your run of the mill “eat less and exercise more” diet for a slow loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week that seems to take the rest of your life.

Our protocol tricks Mother Nature a little, maybe, however only natural processes are at work. Per Dr. Simeons, it is safe and so very effective.

My StoryAbout a year ago, I had given up. I’d given up on ever losing the weight I had put on over the past 10 years. I tried everything out there and nothing worked. One day I saw an ad for Pounds and Inches Away in Castleton. I called them and decided to try their HCG Weigh Loss Program. I started the program in September of 2012and was amazed how easily the weight came off. The staff at Pounds and Inches Away were very supportive and helpful. I could call them or e-mail them with questions. They even called me to help with my accountability. Yes I had to follow the program but with their direction I was able to lose weight more easily and effectively than I ever had before. Even more amazing it has not come back. And I lost weight. I completed two rounds between Labor Day 2012 and Easter 2013 – and I lost 52 lbs. Losing the weight made me realize – I wasn’t as old as I felt! My blood pressure is down, my cholesterol is improving. My health, overall, is significantly improved from a year ago. It wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely worth it. I feel alive again – and it’s all because I walked into Pounds and Inches Away, Castleton, and let them get me started on a new path. Carolyn from Indianapolis

Today’s high-speed lifestyle is very taxing on the liver. Your liver’s job is to analyze and “attempt” to excrete, or turn to fuel, all substances you come in contact with. It’s supposed to routinely perform 1000’s of “life vital functions” around the clock.

But every day, we ingest countless sticky, foreign, practically useless chemicals, making this job nearly impossible. As a result, the

load on the liver keeps increasing.

Our overworked friend, houses the gallbladder, and weighs about a pound. It regulates blood sugar, cleanses the blood, stores iron, metabolizes fat, carbohydrates and protein, synthesizes vitamin A, and is the lynch pin of your body’s immune system.

The Gallbladder is the warehouse where bile produced by the liver is stored, concentrated and released into the digestive tract at mealtimes. The bile’s function is to carry toxins from the liver, neutralize acidity from the stomach, and emulsify fats – like dish soap to grease.

Over time the result of our Standard American Diet (SAD) causes “stones” to accumulate in the liver and gallbladder which can block the release of the bile that leads to clogging all of our elimination systems – liver, kidneys, skin, lungs, and colon.

In ancient times people understood that spring was the perfect time to cleanse and detoxify the liver with fresh, young spring greens and herbs. This spring consider thanking your liver and gallbladder for all its hard work by giving it good nutrients, cleansing and eliminating stones. Notice skin improvement, constipation relief, less aches and pains, better sleep and less fatigue, headache relief, less sinus and cold congestion, and improved emotional well-being.

With health costs rising and the industry undergoing monumental changes, it is more important than ever to choose wisely how you spend your health care dollars and time.

I have chosen to stay an “independent provider.” This gives me the flexibility to offer my patients quality care with value. I am in a unique position to give patients a “fresh start”. Many patients with complex problems reach a point in their care that they feel as though they are getting the same answer from every doctor within a system; sometimes a fresh approach and a new relationship can bring clarity to difficult issues.

We have the opportunity to develop a relationship and then many problems can be dealt with as “phone consultations”. Since all lab work, specialists, and other tests are ordered within your network, there are no additional costs.

Other patients will use me as a second

opinion or consultant, and keep their primary physician. We work together on specific issues such as hormone replacement for men and women, weight loss, and alternatives to medications. Additionally, it is often helpful to ask a professional before embarking on specific alternative programs.

Many companies offer Health Savings Accounts (HSA). With these plans, you have the ability to spend your health care dollars wherever and however YOU want. For many, with or without HSA accounts, there are usually high deductibles; you will most likely NOT meet your deductible and have “everything covered”. Regardless of insurance type, a single office visit answering most, if not all of your questions is more cost effective than multiple visits with strict time restraints.

This is not a new concept; it is the continuation of a very old one – relationships matter.

‘CANCER’ is not a word that anyone wants to hear from their doctor. Until recently, a diagnosis of cancer has led to traditional treatment methods many of which are expensive, lengthy, and some are even painful. For patients in early stages of skin, breast, or prostate cancers, there is now a new option. Available for the first time in the United States, the State of Indiana has approved the opening of Indiana Center for Advanced Medicine (iCAM), a facility that offers Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) and Sonodynamic Therapy (SDT). These therapies offer patients a whole new approach apart from the traditional treatment programs such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, typically followed for US cancer therapies. Patients at iCAM are treated with an entirely different kind of cancer care - a treatment program that is non-toxic, minimally to non-invasive and doesn’t disfigure the body or come with detrimental side or after effects. These therapies have been used successfully around the world in countries such as Japan, the UK, China and Russia but until now, have not been available in the United States.

Indiana Center for Advanced Medicine Inc. (iCAM), opened in June 2013 is the first center in the United States to offer Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) and Sonodynamic Therapy (SDT) to specifically treat prostate, breast and skin cancers in the early stages of diagnosis. PDT Therapy or SDT therapy uses a combination of light and photosensitizing agents to kill cancer cells. Unlike the traditional cancer treatment plans that include chemotherapy, radiation or surgery, PDT and SDT treatments are “body friendly” in that they present minimal or no side effects but both treatments are still effective at killing the cancer. This new offering provides a way for patients to maintain overall health both during and after treatment.

What are some of the other benefits of PDT or SDT?According to the National Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), “studies have shown that PDT can work as well as surgery or radiation therapy in treating certain kinds of cancer and pre-cancers. It has some advantages such as:

• Ithasnolong-termside-effectswhenusedproperly.• It usually takes only a short time and ismostoftendoneasanoutpatient.• Itcanbetargetedveryprecisely.• Unlike radiation, PDT can be repeatedmanytimesatthesamesiteifneeded.• There’s little or no scarring after the siteheals.• It often costs less than other cancertreatments.”

The iCAM Medical TeamThe iCAM team is comprised of experts committed to the health and wellness of each patient. Bob Kunz, M.D. (on cover) administers the PDT portion of the treatment while Dr. Kevin Forrest, D.C., LAc and Dr. Anthony Forrest, D.C., Lac work with patients in the detox portion of their program. Rochelle Forrest, RN, BSN, MSM (on cover), recent winner of the 2013 Next Global Thought Leader Competition for her work with Tummies Minds & Spirits also works closely with patients as a holistic health coach.

Patients who are interested in the treatment programs offered at iCAM should call to schedule a telephone consultation. A member of the iCAM physician’s team will interview the patient to make sure that PDT or SDT is an appropriate choice for treatment. From there, the iCAM physicians will create a comprehensive treatment plan that includes fortifying complimentary therapies such as full-body hyperthermia, oxygenation, detoxification and lifestyle modification in addition to the PDT or SDT therapy. Treatment plans typically range from 2-3 weeks total.

For more information, visit www.icamcancercenters.com. To schedule your

complimentary consultation, call 800-721-8802 or 317-432-8894.

As I have studied the concept of how busy we all are and how our lives are driven, in large part, by our digital connections, I have been drawn again and again to the encouragement of spending time in nature, without device(s), most usually without other people. It seems we have very little time or inclination to be quiet, to physically move and to think.

This notion came home to me a few weeks back as I was ordering new workout tops from the Columbia Sportswear Company. Truth be told, after working as an attorney in a law office for more than 31 years, I cannot wait at the end of a long day to put on my workout clothes...hence, the need to order more tops. After I put in the order, the following popped up on my computer screen: "Thank you for choosing Columbia! Now, we encourage you to spend the time before your order arrives doing something

in the Greater Outdoors. Which means getting off the computer. So go, already. We'll be here when you get back." This made me smile, as I thought - how very true.

Dr. Eric Topol, one of the world's top physicians and foremost cardiologists,

formerly of the Cleveland Clinic, talks of the need to take time in nature, to exercise and to be quiet. He says that he personally never takes elevators and always walks up the stairs. He claims that he exercises one hour each day, no matter what, no matter how busy he is, and I have a feeling he is a very busy man. He does not hesitate to talk, from a health perspective, of our need to get outdoors and into nature and to move. He believes that our sedentary, digital lifestyle is killing us, literally.

This concept is not new. John Muir (1838-1914), the famous American naturalist, who promoted the creation of national parks and reservations, said, "Keep close to Nature's heart...and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean."

The evidence is in, as we lawyers like to say. We need to heed it. by Marti Starkey

With post high school education in high gear throughout the country, now is a

perfect time to investigate the medical/dental field. You can become a highly skilled dental professional through an Intense Hands-on 12-week Dental Assistant Training Program. Indiana University’s record Spring graduating class is indicative of the national surge

in education pursuits. Dental Office Training by Lynn has led the way in

providing a tremendous opportunity for those wishing to enter the medical field.

As a licensed dental hygienist with over 25 years’ experience in dentistry, Lynn Uptgraft established

Dental Office Training by Lynn for the training and development of dental assistants. Her program provides intense, hands-on training, as well as the study of terminology, anatomy, and technology that is vital in obtaining employment in the dental office today.

The Dental Office Training program offers a great curriculum including personalized training, limited enrollment, ISDH accredited digital radiology and software training in the latest technology.

Lynn’s course has a maximum enrollment of TWELVE students so that more personalized training can be given. The course is outlined with a Practical Curriculum, as well as Classroom Lectures on Classifications, Anatomy, Tooth Descriptions, Armamentarium, Cavity Preparations, How to Place Varnish, Liners & Bases, Wedge Placement and Matrices of all types for the anterior and posterior. It covers resin materials in completions from the different generations of etch/prime/bond, to how to work with shades in the posterior and anterior area of the mouth.

Lynn is now very proud to be accepting VA benefits for her classes. The Department of Labor states that between the years 2004-2014, dental assisting is projected to be one the fastest growing occupations. Dental assisting is a great family-oriented career. Most dentists work a 32-hour workweek and have weekends and holidays off. This is a career that you can use as a stepping stone to higher paying occupations.

To learn more about this great opportunity you can reach Lynn at 317-585-9015 or visit DentalOfficeTraining.net.

If you have been following my articles since January, you know that I have focused on what women have said they want more of and many are looking for purpose in their life.

According to Martin E. P. Seligman, author of Authentic Happiness, being on a Meaningful Life Path consists of using your signature strengths in the service of something that you believe is larger than you are. Many personal development books, workshops and life coaches today talk about how to find your purpose in life, how to define your legacy, or how to feel as though you are making a contribution to the world.

Unless we take the time to reflect on our past, our present and our future, the meaning in our life isn’t always so apparent. I suggest you take about 15 minutes of quiet time today and consider: Do you know what your purpose is? Do you have meaning in your life? Where does your meaning in life come from? What do you want as your life’s legacy? Is your legacy reflected in your current work? Do you know what your strengths are and are you using them

to create a meaningful life? Do you make choices based on time and money or do you make choices that bring you closer to your meaning in life?

Kim Wolinski, MSW suggests that “The question is not ‘What if I die tomorrow?’ It is, ‘What if I live another 20 or 30 years the way I am?’” Obviously, this is a good reminder that it is never too early or too late to make a change.

At Women Changing Lives, we specialize in training, supporting and mentoring professionals to create permanent financial satisfaction and generate purpose-driven lives. We help those who are ready to use their strengths to make a difference in their life and in the lives of others. We have come together to fulfill our individual dreams and ambitions by partnering with a billion dollar, debt free company with a one-of-a-kind business model. Contact me for the details. I have nothing to sell you, only the facts and truth to give you. Come see how Women Changing Lives can help you change your life. Contact Karen Caprino-Burg at 317-828-3061 or [email protected].

Successful people are asked this all the time.Certainly taking massive action is part of it.Stepping outside of your comfort zone and doing what scares you is part of it.Most high-level achievers have another important secret — a supportive community.I’ve been involved in mastermind groups; participating and leading groups, for many years. They are a critical part of my success. So what is a mastermind group exactly?Mastermind groups offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills. A mastermind group helps you and your group members achieve success. Participants challenge each other to set important goals, and more importantly, to accomplish them. The group requires commitment, confidentiality, and willingness to be creative and brainstorm ideas/solutions, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion. Mastermind group members act as catalysts for growth, devil’s advocates and supportive colleagues. This is the essence and value of mastermind groups. While you can start your own group, here are a few guidelines to get the most out of a mastermind.1. Get people with a similar level of commitment to their businesses and the group. The members of the mastermind have to commit to showing up, not just for the mastermind meetings but for their businesses and lives.Someone who doesn’t care and isn’t working for results will drain the energy of

the entire group.2. Find a mastermind with a leader. While groups occasionally form after events where people meet, it’s unusual for them to continue and to be effective in creating the support that group members need.A leader can make sure that every member gets equal focus, and that ideas are supported, but also constructively criticized.3. Set up a structure for meetings and interactions.Having a set structure for mastermind meetings will keep them from devolving into gossip or complaining sessions, and will keep one person from inappropriately dominating the meetings.Building a business can be a lonely endeavor. Having a community that supports you in building your business creates an environment for success that will help you skyrocket your results. What you’ll get from belonging to a mastermind group. In a mastermind group, the agenda belongs to the group and each person’s participation and commitment is key. Your mastermind partners give you feedback, help you brainstorm new possibilities and set up accountability structures that keep you focused and on track. You create a community of supportive colleagues who brainstorm together to move the members to new heights. You’ll gain tremendous insights which improve your business and personal life. Your mastermind group is like having an objective board of directors, a success team, and a peer advisory group, all rolled into one. Whether you find an existing mastermind group to join, or start a group of your own, you’ll love what this group process can help you accomplish.

People come into the office wanting to change but not believing that they can. My job is to show them that the single most important thing that they can do is to shape how they choose to think. In other words, what you focus your attention on creates a palette for your life. Your biology does not define you! Your reality becomes a reflection of your consciousness. You can modify or change the fabric of who you are the minute you change your thoughts.

Every time you learn something new you make a new synaptic connection. New thoughts can lead to a new choice which leads to a new behavior which leads to a new emotion which creates a new experience which then affects your power in your environment. Not only have you changed the circuitry of your brain but it also means that the energy that you put out in the world will reflect more positivity and success. Words are power and what you say to yourself affects everything!

Your brain is the change agent. The thoughts that you experience are the foundation for who you want to be. Thoughts are the language of the brain and it formulates how you process the world. The body is the unconscious mind...it does not know the difference between what you are experiencing or the feelings that tell the body that it is real therefore you have the capability to make it your reality. In neurological terms your thoughts are a community of neurons which create a synaptic network. When the thoughts merge with feelings they create a reality. If you want to create a new personal reality you need to focus on what you are thinking and assess whether that thought is helpful to who you are and if it is not then you need to find a way to change your thoughts. When you do that repeatedly, you alter your brain chemistry and your neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity means that your brain is amenable to change but you have to exercise it in a way that stretches it over and over again so that it makes new neuropathways that become your new reality.

Most people get locked into their thoughts...60 or 70,000 thoughts a day and most of those thoughts are repeated every single day which produces the same fears, anxieties and feelings. These emotions become part of your personality and you may start saying 1 of the following to yourself:

1. I am plagued with anxiety.

2. I really don't like people.

3. I am just prone to anger.

Well as you continue to have the thoughts, you take on that persona which forms how you relate to yourself and others. It is possible through mindfulness and cognitive behavioral change to actively say:

1. I have control of my anxiety and can change my thoughts into feeling hopeful about the future.

2. I am capable of finding one thing that I like about that person.

3. I can notice the anger and change it to mild irritation.

When you change your thoughts, it affects your current day experience and you have created a new law of association which affects your brain neuropathways hence you are a new and improved human being!

Your personality creates your personal reality and who you are is based on how you think, feel and what you believe. This means that you have the power to shape your destiny and it doesn't get better than that!
