MPI Commercial Coatings Summit Final Program 3 2 MPI Commercial Coatings Summit Final Program
Welcome
Dear Fellow Architectural/Commercial Coatings Industry Professionals,
On behalf of the Master Painters Institute (MPI) and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), I want to welcome you to the MPI Commercial Coatings Summit 2021! The Summit and is being held at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Headquarters in Washington, DC .
Conveniently located near the White House, the National Mall, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in the center of Washington, DC, the AIA building is a one-of-a-kind unique alternative to convention and hotel venues, making this the prime location to host MPI’s Inaugural Commercial Coatings Summit.
Firstly, I would like to express my thanks to Behr Pro Paint for sponsoring this event. Your sponsorship is a large part of what makes events like this possible.
I would also like to thank all of our speakers and panelists, with special mention to our two keynote speakers: Steve O’Neill, Chief Marketing Officer - Benjamin Moore and Kenneth D. Simonson, Chief Economist, Associated General Contractors of America. We would not be able to conduct this event without all of your input and dedication to the architectural/commercial coatings industry.
Throughout this two-day event you will have the opportunity to hear presentations on numerous current issues facing the coatings industry today, including the role of standards in coatings, current economic issues, the value of industry partnerships, and innovative technology. There will also be a panel discussion to close out the first day featuring industry experts, that you won’t want to miss!
Directly following the Summit, MPI will be holding our inaugural meeting of the MPI Standards Committee where attendees will learn how to become an integral a part of shaping the current standards landscape and developing new standards for the industry and MPI. Please help us by spreading the word about this new opportunity so we can build the most robust and well-rounded committee as possible. We are looking for representation from paint manufacturers, contractors, specifiers/owners, other industry organizations, and any other individuals interested in working with us in this effort.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to get involved in all of these activities. We understand that your time is valuable and genuinely appreciate the contributions you make to our society. We hope this event also allows you the time to network with other architectural/commercial coatings professionals and industry organizations.
Please visit the MPI Website (mpi.net) to learn more about what we do at MPI and how you can get involved.
We look forward to seeing you in Washington DC, be it in person or virtually!
