The Object of Our Faith Changes Everything Luke 18:9-34
Salvation is a gift that comes to those who:
1) themselves before God and man.
(Luke 18:9-14; Romans 4:2-8; 1 Corinthians 1:26-31; Philippians 3:2-9; Isaiah 64:4-9; 2 Cor. 5:16-17)
A. Don’t boast in what you and do.
B. Boast in the mercy that comes through !
C. See yourself and others through the eyes of Christ.
i. Loved by God – I my brother.
ii. Forgiven by God – I my brother.
iii. Adopted by God – I my brother.
iv. Gifted by God — I my brother.
V. Transformed by God — I have for all people!
2) to Jesus and receive the Kingdom by faith.
(Luke 18:15-17)
3) in God’s perfect provision for forgiveness and eternal life.
(Luke Luke 18:18-22, 31-34; Romans 3:19-31; Matthew 5:17-20, 48; James 1:10)
4) God’s eternal Kingdom over temporary earthly treasures.
(Luke Luke 18:22-30; Matthew 13:44-46)
Applying God’s Word to Life
1) What are some activities, accolades, and victories you could put on your spiritual resume?
2) If salvation was granted on the basis of a “bell curve” grading system—who would you consider the “curve busters” and who do you think you could easily out score?
3) Who are the “important” and “not important” people in your world?
4) Have you come to recognize that you are a sinner in need of a Savior?
5) When did you come to Jesus and receive His Kingdom by faith?
6) How has God’s law helped you to see your need to surrender your life to Christ?
7) Have you come to find that there is one and only one righteousness that could save you from your sins?
8) How has the gospel changed the way you view and treat others?
9) What did you most need to hear from God’s Word today?
10) How will you live and love differently as a result of your time in God’s Word today?
