This year’s event is focused on raising funds to support the Women & Children’s Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, a Massachusetts General Hospital subsidiary. Here, thousands of Seacoast area families receive care every year. Your partnership ensures valuable programs and services are available to give our youngest patients a healthy start.

In 1994, the Wentworth-Douglass Golf Tournament was created to honor the memory of a special child, Pete Gabarro, who lost his battle with cancer. Today,

26 years later, it has raised more than $1.5 million dollars and touched the lives of thousands of babies, children and families all across the Seacoast region.

How your generous support is impacting women & children in our community

Since its launch in 2017, the Family Wellness Education Series has grown in attendance and awareness. The 2019/2020 Family Wellness Series will focus on the behavioral needs of children & families, including topics such as grief and emotional resiliance in a digital world.

For years, our Car Seat Program has been a highly sought out resource for parents, grandparents and childcare providers in the community. We offer free monthly checks and inpatient checks as well as staff and patient education on the safety of a properly installed child restraint system. We continue to build our group of certified technicians to sustain the popular program.

Since launching last year, the Seacoast Babies App has been well-received by both patients and providers. The app will continue to be updated, providing patients with accurate information pertinent to their care.

Pediatric Therapeutic Programs like art, music and hippotherapy (horseback riding) are made possible by you for our pediatric patients. Continuing to provide these valuable programs helps children achieve their highest level of health.

Maternal Mental Health Support programs toenhance a woman and her family’s well-being. The funds help provide Labor and Postpartum Doula Support for families in need, a weekly support group for women with postpartum depression and anxiety, and bereavement coordination. We remain the only hospital in the area offering these services and the most comprehensive care for women in thechildbearing years.

Additionally, in 2019, thanks to our generous supporters, the Fund-A-Need program held during the Dinner & Awards Ceremony raised $14,000 to help strengthen, enhance and grow the services we provide to our most fragile patients with the purchase of a transport isolette (neonatal transporter).
