Mrs. Roussell’s Classroom Newsletter Aug. 30 th – Sept. 3 rd This Week’s Assignments Math – We will continue with multiplication and arrays. Students will learn to write multiplication story problems and we will be working more with factors and multiples. Students will have a short quiz on Friday. Writing – Students will be creating a heart map full of topics and experiences they can write about. We will begin our first writing project using the book “Listen to the Rain”. Spelling – I am looking over our spelling assessments the students took this week and working on putting them into groups. Reading – Our focus this week will while reading the book Because of Winn Dixie will be inferring, making connections, visualizing, and questioning. Students will be working on responding to their reading in their logs. Science - We will continue with our rocks and soil unit. Look for the study guide to come home on Thursday. Reminders to Parents 1. Check and sign your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at school. Many students are not getting their assignment books signed. 2. Monday will be day 3 (Music/P.E.), students need to wear tennis shoes. Important Dates Half Day – Friday, September 3 No School / Labor Day – Monday, September 6 Something to Talk About!
