Survey

I have conducted a survey sampling a small number of my target audience, fortunately they were within my friend group. The responders are reliable and I know I can depend on them to answer truthfully which I believe will give me an accurate representation of the wider audience.

Analysis of final results

Gender / Age

I have conducted some secondary research which supports my survey results – generally, my audience is marginally female dominant.The analysis of a survey someone else conducted shows very similar results to the one conducted by myself. It enforces the accuracy of my primary research and gives me a wider insight into my audience. Secondary research into NME magazine, suggests a target age group of 16-24 year olds which is within the age group I surveyed.

Psychographics

I paid careful attention to the people I surveyed to get a sense of what they wear and had a select conversation to try and get more detail than the questionnaire would allow about my target audience and their psychographics. I found out the following;

• They are likely to be student or just starting in work, this links with my research on age which suggests my audience are likely to be 16-24.

• Enjoy going to gigs - again, this is supported by my primary research• Listen to a lot of music daily and feel that music plays a large part in their life• Wear skinny jeans, band t shirts, Converse style trainers or crop tops and denim shorts

for females, frequently seen like this at gigs, especially in the summer months• Shop at stores such as Topshop, H&M, Asos & HMV, amongst others• Likely to play the guitar or drums
