The BBFC• The BBFC (British board of film classification) gives age ratings for films around the Britain

every year, this makes the viewer realise which film is suited for their age. • 15 and 18 rated films are very similar in context however they do have their own differences.• 18s is a more extreme version on a 15 however it does have its boundaries.• - Where the film is has material breaching criminal law or has been created through the

commission of a criminal offence• Material or Treatment that is a risk towards the BBFC. Showing if a film is too scary or using

behaviour in society which risks others I.E. Very dangerous acts or illegal drug use and Rape.

Age Ratings for Noir Films• Noir films are generally filmed for the older ages, this is easier as it can

maximize the revenue they are given. Film Noir’s - “Sunset Boulevard” (PG) (1950)

• “M” – (PG) (1931)• “Double Indemnity” – (PG) (1944)• “Notorious” – (U) (1946)• “The Man Who Wasn’t There” – (15) (2001)

Film Rating • By the look of the movies being made they were generally made for PG however in the

modern era Film Noir’s have turned into a more of a 15/18 due to the audiences understanding.

• As a group we have decided to create our film sequence a 15. This has been decided as this can maximize our target audience for the respectable age of 15+ . We believed this was right for the sequence as colorful language will be said and our theme was aimed to be above the 12a Spectrum due to give the group allowance to apply words from the script.

Audience Profile• John Trent • Age :17
