My objective is to grow with a company that can utilize my positive attitude, professional habits and project management experience to increase customer service and satisfaction.

I am highly organized and efficient, with excellent computer skills and polished presentation. I have vast skills in project management, organization, human resources, and communications.

I am exceedingly knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Office, QuickBooks, Database systems (including DOS), Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.

Reflection

As a person my self concept is clear, I am going to make a difference in the lives of others. I feel that my home and work lives have both received more attention and appreciation now that I have my goals in order and I feel that I am on the right path. I feel that my facework has improved and now I no longer have to stress over a future I was unsure of in the past. I will continue to grow and learn. My education is the most important part of my future. I am excited about entering the world of psychology and learning more about people and myself.

Demonstration on Pearson Correlation:In order to determine if there is a correlation between student anxiety scores and number of study hours, the Person Correlation can be used on the data set:

With this information we can see there is a correlation of 0.57. This implies that there is a correction between the numbers of hours a student studies and their anxiety score. “Correlations strictly determine whether a relationship exists between the two variables under investigation” (Argosy University, 2010, p.1).

Research Skills

Does being raised in a single parent home increased the chances of an individual being imprisoned as an adult? This question was studied using the participants at Huntsville, Texas State Prison. Participants background records and survey information was collected and analyzed to determine if there was a correlation as well as the cause and effect of the information. These results were statistically analyzed using the Person Correlation Coefficient and the t-test with the results obtained. Supporting documentation was also obtained from studies completed by D. J. Flannery, A.K. Liau, K.E. Powell, W. Vesterdal, A.T. Vazsonyi, S. Guo, H. Atha, D. Embry, C. C. Harper, S. S. McLanahan, M. J. Leiber, K. Y. Mack, T.J. Taylor, D. Peterson, F. Esbensen and A. Freng.

Communication Skills: Oral and Written

The Message in “The Road Not Taken”

“The Road Not Taken” written by Robert Frost is a poem that describes one man’s journey and how taking the road less traveled has affected him. This poem can be taken literally or symbolically. The narrator has come to a crossroad. This crossroad could be an actual split in a road while the man is physically on a journey, or it can refer to the road of life and the decisions that every person has to make while on that road. As with all poetry the reader is likely to view this poem with a symbolic approach as opposed to taking the author’s words literally.

Ethics and Diversity Awareness

The impact of the psychotherapy effectiveness changes with each view. The sensationalist view allows for psychotherapy to be very effective because the person would be completely effected by their enviornmetn within the therapy. The rationalists view would allow for psychotherapy to affect a person but only up until their own preconcieved theories or notions. A romantic view would impact the effectiveness in a possitive way as well. The romantic would be able to adjust or reevaluate their prior knowledge as well as their enviornemtn in order to make the therapy effective.

Foundations of Psychology

The study of the human mind goes back throughout our history as humans. The critical aspects of this field include all aspects of life, from conception to death. Being able to understand human nature is still being studied and will continue to be studied as long as humans exist. The diverse ways a person can experience life requires diverse understandings of why and what people think and feel. King, Viney, and Woody (2009) start off with a great quote from Mary Henle, “If we cling to our ignorance of history, error crushed to earth, will rise again, and we will have to go on solving the same old problems again and again” (p.2).

Applied Psychology

Community Outreach Program

Educating people is the first step to a better community. The community needs to work together to help each other become better and safer Americans. Understanding the issues within the community can help professionals and others know what to look for and how to help. If a person see that another is in danger or needs help one should be willing to reach out and assist them.

Interpersonal Effectiveness

I find it amazing how much a person can change in five years. Personally I have grown and learned far more as person than I have in any other time frame in my life. In the last five years I have become a homeowner, a wife, a student, and discovered what I want to do with my life. I am looking forward to my future with hope that I will continue to grow and become a stronger more understanding person in my life.
