The Advanced Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) 2017 is a mul-site event taking place at both the Naval Undersea Warfare Center’s Narraganse Bay Test Facility in Newport, RI, and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City operaonal areas. Personnel from Submarine Development Squadron Five from Bangor, WA, will parcipate in ANTX 2017 as fleet operators, controlling the vehicles and systems. ANTX 2017 will feature live demonstraons of tasks above and below the water including bordering shorelines. Crical to this operaon are the collecon, fusion, and transmission of data without being detected and rapid improvements of coordinaon among autonomous plaorms, the technology enablers that facilitate autonomous operaons, and their operators. The Advanced Naval Technology Exercise (ANTX) demonstrates the future of Navy technologies in acti on today. ANTX provides a low-risk environment in which scienti sts and engineers may evaluate theirtechnological innovati ons at the research and development level before theirtechnologies become militarized andintegrated at the operati onal level.
ANTX also provides a feedback loop be-tween the Navy requirements community and industry/academia/Warfare Center research and development investments –informing both the requirementscommunity and internal investmentdecisions.
