    WEDNESDAY PREVIEW TOP FOUR SEEDS DJOKOVIC, MURRAY, NADAL, BERDYCH IN ACTION

    Second round play concludes on Wednesday at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters with No. 1 NovakDjokovic, No. 2 Andy Murray, No. 3 Rafael Nadal and No. 4 Tomas Berdych taking to the courts for thefirst time on Court Central. There are 11 second round matches on the schedule.

    In the opening match No. 4 seed Tomas Berdychof the Czech Republic brings a 2-0 advantageagainst Marcel Granollersof Spain. The World No. 6 Berdych comes in with a 21-6 record on the yearand hes one of four players with 20+ match wins this season (Ferrer 25, Gasquet 22, and Djokovic 21)and one of two Top 10 players (Federer) without a title. He comes into his first clay court tourney,having reaching the quarter-finals or better in each of his six tournaments played. The 27-year-oldGranollers comes into the second round with a 6-8 (1-0 on clay) mark this season. The World No. 4 indoubles turned in his best singles result in Sydney in January when he reached the quarter-finals (l. toSeppi). He is one of a tournament-high nine Spaniards in this years singles draw.

    Following World No. 5 Rafael Nadalbegins his quest to win his ninth consecutive title here in a firsttime meeting with Australian Marinko Matosevic. It is the first time that Nadal is playing a Australianhere. Nadal is playing here for the 10th time and has an overall record of 44-1, winning 42 consecutivematches. His only loss came to Guillermo Coria in third round in his tournament debut in 2003. He hasthe best career match record on clay in the Open Era with a 266-20 record and hes 38-5 in clay finals.The 27-year-old Matosevic is playing his first Top 5 opponent and has career record of 0-3 vs. Top 10foes. He is making his tournament debut and he defeated Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 75 63 onTuesday, converting five of seven break point chances and saving nine of 12 break points faced.

    In the third match, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic takes a 4-3 head-to-head advantage against topRussian Mikhail Youzhny. This is their first meeting on clay.. Djokovic is playing his first match sincespraining his right ankle in the Davis Cup quarter-finals against Sam Querrey on April 7 in Boise, Idaho.Djokovics four-set win clinched the tie and sent Serbia into the semi-finals (vs. Canada). Djokovic is atwo-time finalist in Monte-Carlo (last year and 09, l. to Nadal both times). The former World No. 8Youzhny is playing here for the ninth time (4-8 record) and is looking to reach the third round for thesecond time. In his tournament debut in 2001 he lost to Alberto Martin in the third round.

    In the final match, World No. 2Andy Murray faces qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselinof France for thesecond time. Murray won their only meeting in three sets in the second round of the 2012 AustralianOpen. Murray comes in after capturing his ninth career ATP Masters 1000 title at Miami (d. Ferrer) onMar. 31. The 25-year-old Scot is two wins away from recording his 400thcareer ATP World Tour-levelwin (398-125 record). He is playing here for the seventh time (10-6 record) and reached the semi-finalstwice (2009 & 11). The 29-year-old Roger-Vasselin comes in with an 8-7 (2-1 on clay) record and hesplaying in his fourth career ATP Masters 1000 event and first on clay. He was a lucky loser at ATPMasters 1000 Miami replacing Lopez, losing to Devvarman in second round.
