Leading up to the dropping of the bomb:· Pearl Harbor- December 7th 1941· Involvement of U.S. in WWII· Japan wouldn’t surrender· Truman thought it was the correct and only choice· American soldiers were weak from 4 years of war· 2 million Japanese soldiers were waiting to fight· Prevention of more deaths of US soldiers
