ATMOSPHERIC EVAPORATOR Aqualogic Inc., North Haven, Conn.

The automatic Aqualogic Atmospheric Evaporator can evaporate up to 45 gph. Aqueous wastes or plating solutions are heated to 140-150°F and circulated through a spray nozzle atomizing the solution. Only water vapor is exhausted to the atmosphere through a chevron mist eliminator. Steam or hot water coils maintain the solution temperature. Concentrate is returned to the pro- cess or pumped out for disposal. The Evaporator is a unitized design, with chemical-resistant con- struction, for most plating and metal-finishing applications.

EVAPORATOR Burt Process Equipment, Hamden, Conn.

The Apollo evaporator is available in two sizes to handle up to 60 gallons per hour. The design utilizes the concept of large surface area to oper- ate at low temperature. The vertical, cylindrical tower offers a minimum size footprint. These highly efficient units include a mist eliminator with multiple layers for emission filtration similar to a scrubber. The standard material is polypro- pylene but is also available in other plastics in- cluding PVDF. Complete turnkey systems are available using gas, steam, hot water, and electric heat sources. The systems may be employed to close loop rinses, process or dragout baths, or reduce wastewater volumes.
