Gap Atid Gap Experience in Israel



High school graduates (ages 17-19) – break the mold and let Israel be your

classroom! Embark on a journey of personal exploration and maturation,

while making friendships and memories that will last a lifetime with Atid

Gap Experience. This is the only gap program in Israel which allows you to

design your own experience – choose the length of your program (3, 6 or 9

months) and the communities in which you wish to live and integrate

(kibbutz/and or the city) – all for the most affordable prices in Israel education.

Atid features two Experiences: the Community Involvement Experience andthe Kibbutz Experience. The length of your program will determine the

number of Experiences in which you participate: Come for 3 months (one

cycle) and enjoy one Experience. Come for 6 months (two cycles) and engage

in both Experiences, the full program. Come for 9 months (three cycles),

participate in both Experiences then return to the one that is most meaningful

to you.

On this affordable program, you will build character and community. Atid is

an unforgettable experience of personal growth, community involvement,

study and travel. This is the ultimate way for high-school graduates to take time

out before starting college.

Atid will prepare you for collegiate and adult Jewish life. Our extraordinary

program is unique in that it focuses on personal growth and development

through participation in meaningful service projects, building Jewish identity,

teaching important life skills (you'll learn to cook dinner with courses taught

by Jewish mothers on kibbutz), and creating a caring community in which

fellow participants become like family.

Community Involvement Experience

The Kibbutz Experience includes 3 months in a beautiful Israeli kibbutz - the

sheltering, scenic, easy-going home in which we can build our community.

Get in touch with Israel’s history by living and working in its pioneering

community. Live with your fellow participants in private housing, buildgroup and Jewish identity, and work alongside Israeli kibbutz members in

volunteer placements. During the Kibbutz Experience, participants engage

in daily intensive Hebrew lessons and have the option of earning college

credit in basic courses. This Experience will have you speaking Hebrew like

a native and learning skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

The Community Involvement Experience offers you an incredible opportunity

to spend 3 meaningful months immersed in Israeli society as a productive

member of the community. You will study Hebrew weekly in Ulpan, and be

exposed to life in Israel by living and working among its citizens - thereby

strengthening your ties with the country and its people. You will work one-on-

one with our program coordinators in order to design a service project that

suits your talents and the needs of the community. Our volunteers play a key role

in the lives of many Israelis; Community Involvement Experience volunteers are

able to feel the impact they have within the community while creating memories

that last a lifetime.

Kibbutz Experience



TRAVEL- Take weekly trips throughout Israel guided by the country's most experienced

tour educators.

ISRAEL ENRICHMENT GROUP ACTIVITIES – Learn about the history, culture, society

and contemporary issues of Israel in our group lecture and program series.PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - Each element of the program is designed to foster

personal growth, Jewish identity, independence, self-confidence, group unity and preparation

for college life and beyond.

Both Experiences Include...

Choose to stay for one, two or three sessions. Programs start every three months. Check our website for an updated program schedule.

Program Dates

Oranim has been organizing travel programs in Israel since 1986. Safety and security have

always been our primary concern. The Oranim staff team is available 24 hours a day

throughout the program. All itineraries and travel plans are carefully reviewed to ensure

the safety of our participants. Upon arrival (and at regular intervals throughout the

program), participants engage in a thorough safety and security briefing. Participants are

guided to be aware of their surroundings and instructed to contact a staff member at any time.

Safety & Security

Atid’s comprehensive tuition package includes: housing with cable TV and wireless

internet, three daily communal meals on the Kibbutz Experience, meal stipend on the Commu-

nity Involvement Experience (to purchase and prepare your own food), trips throughout

Israel, Hebrew Ulpan, all group activities, health insurance and a special tuition incentive

when you join for two or more Experiences (flights not included).
